The Board of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, Carolina Pascual, has presented the programming of Alicante Puerto de Departure de la Vuelta al Vela a Vela that will take place on January 15, 2023 from the Port of Alicante and that will provide an economic, technological and social impetus for the entire Valencian Community.

Alicante becomes for the fifth time central headquarters and port of departure of The Ocean Race, the most extreme and hard nautical challenge of all races by
teams and the largest sports event of the Comunitat Valenciana, and that this edition will celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The programming of Alicante Puerto de Departure de la Vuelta al Mundo a Vela will take place from 7 to 15 January 2023 in Alicante, culminating on Sunday 15
January with the exit pistolet of the race.

During the days before departure, a Race Village will be designed in the Port of Alicante with spaces for new technologies, with projects
and new digital challenges.

The Generalitat Valenciana will provide the Race Village space with a complete programme of activities full of innovative, technological and
sustainability, complemented by educational and playful content, which is intended to call for the participation of all citizens.
