Only four boats managed to finish the Inverse Regata, the first of the competition calendar and organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Gran Canaria... in the image the Cand3la

There was a great desire to start the season and the registration list included the participation of 14 cruises representatives of the Real Club Náutico Gran Canaria, Club Marítimo Varadero and the Naval Commission of Regatas.

The Inversa Regata presents a different competition model, where the rating of each boat is applied from the initial moment of the tour, becoming a regatta in real time. Today the wind conditions were hard and the ships that reached the starting line, were found a field of regats with wind south direction and 19 knots of medium intensity, with rachas that reached 24.

Under these conditions, the Regatas Committee opted for a tour consisting of a section of girded and a section of stern. Two ships, the Chance V of Jorge Cantero (RCN Gran Canaria) and the Alpa of José María Sánchez Palacios (CM Varadero) had to withdraw for various breakages.

The cruises that remained in the race did not have anything easy, for not only did they have to draw the wind grabs, but also an uncomfortable and short-cycle wave that made it difficult to maintain stability and above all speed.

Finally, only four ships were able to enter the finish line: in the ORC division the Butxaca of Joaquín Blanco Roca (RCNGC) begins this 2022 with a new victory and showing a good development and control of the ship, in these harsh conditions of wind and sea. The Cand3la C2 of Alejandro Cantero (RCNGC) was second with much control of the situation in the open course, entering into goal with the spi carrying and good speed.

In the E-division of Lobos Island of the Naval Commission of Regatas. The Tamarán Uno de Román Pérez Rodríguez and belonging to the Club Marítimo Varadero also successfully faced these conditions of the day, entering second.
