The countries participating in these International Winter Series have been England, Germany, Poland, Russia and Spain. This edition has seen an increase in international teams and it is expected that for the race scheduled for January, the 16 ships registered in this championship will continue to be on the rise as our country an attractive place for the crews of the rest of Europe (Photo torveo.es)
The third event of the International Barcelona Winter Series, organized by the Real Club Nautico in Barcelona, has been held in the waters of the Catalan capital, where despite the difficult wind conditions the race committee managed to perform a total of 9 sleeves.
The provisional podium was headed by the Canaries of the Monjo Sailing Team, sponsored by Autolica-Tropicfeel-Kahaway, followed by the Tenaz that this occasion was patroned by the lanzaroteño Rayco Tabares and in third position the Russians of the Legal Tenzor.
On Saturday the same difficult conditions were repeated and only two trials could be held with two victories of the same Russian team and a second and a third for the Canaries while Tenaz closed the day with a 5th and a second, which made the same podium of the first day, but already with five ships in a handkerchief very close to points, they joined the Bodega Can Marlés struggle of Jorge Martínez Doreste and the Alcaidesa Marina of his brother Gustavo M. Doreste, which would end up impeccably winning the last two sleeves of the championship.
On Sunday, the last day of the race the wind rolled south and began to sail with a soft 5-6 knots of intensity of the 210º that during the day was increasing to 10-11 knots and rolling to 220. Being the last day marked by a more stable wind with few changes in pressure and less exaggerated roles.
After three days of good regatta in Barcelona, the classification of the third event held in December ended with Tenaz de Pablo Garriga and Rayco Tabares to the leaders as leader, followed in second place by the Russians of the legal tenzor of Mikhail Yatsun and in third place the Monjo Sailing Team of Luis Martínez Doreeste.
This is the general after 23 sleeves held in Barcelona waters:
