The eighth edition of the City of the Port Regata, Trophy Excellence Cup by Optimist will bring together more than 200 regatists in the first days of the new year.

The event, which has been presented in Puerto Sherry, will be held between 2 and 4 January 2022 preceded by the success of a call that will host regatists from eight autonomous communities and four countries, in line with one of the most coveted trophies among the young sailors.

In this case, the Excellence Cup of Optimist is made up of four races, with headquarters, in addition to in El Puerto de Santa María, in Vigo, Torrevieja and Palamós. The Port of Santa Maria will be the second after the one held in the Galician city and will participate in 210 regatists from eight autonomous communities (Andalusia-Cantabria-Basque Country-Canarias-Murcia-Valencian Community-Galicia-Catalonia) and four countries represented (Spain-Portugal-Suecia-Germany).

In this way, the year will start again in the Gaditana Bay taking one of the most prestigious races within the national landscape, which this year for the first time will have its headquarters in the marina Puerto Sherry, main collaborator and host of the race that organizes the RCN of El Puerto de Santa María.
