The official day of arrival was scheduled for today... although some teams, such as the Spanish delegation, have arrived before to acclimate themselves.

Everything is prepared in Mussanah, Oman, to host the 50th edition of the World Youth Championship 2021 Hempel, where the world's best youth regatists participate from 11 to 18 December.

A total of 433 regatists from 56 countries, including 10 Spanish crews, will participate in the competition of 11 events in the male and female classes of 29er, 420, ILCA 6 and the mixed class Nacra 15. As a novelty, the male and female categories in windsurfing Bic Techno 293 + and Kiteboarding FormaKite.

Spain is represented by the world champions in 29er, Mateo and Simón Codoñer Alemany (Valencia Community), the world's absolute subchampions and subchampions sub- 19 of 420, Neus Ballester and Andrea Perelló (Baleares), the also Mallorcan and European subchampion in ILCA 6 sub- 19 Javier Seguí, the bat María Martínez Maestre, fourth in the World of ILCA 6 sub- 19, the Balar couple Ian Clive Walker and Finn Dicke, seventh in the last World Cup of 420, Zoe Fernández, thirteenth in the World Cup and in the World Cup of Ferer, as well as in the World Cup and in the World of Ferer. The Catalans Max Rondeau and Mar García, tenth in the Nacra 15 World Cup, represent this mixed class in Oman.

The youngest duo with 14 and 15 years of age is the canaries Martina Lodos and Martina Díaz, in 29er, who have already achieved a fifth place in the absolute 29er World Cup and are first in the world in sub-17, and the FormaKite class is represented by the Valencian Francisco Peiró.

Spain also holds the Cup of Nations, the annual trophy awarded to the best country (Nations Trophy), achieved at the last World Youth Championship, held in Poland in 2019.

The opening ceremony officially welcomes the regatists on Sunday 12 and the competition will extend from Monday 13 to Friday 17 December.
