Nico Rodríguez reference of the Galician candle, in the Annual Gala held in Vilagarcía

Nico, present, received the most sound ovation. Not the only one, because there were a few, but their performance at the Tokyo Games (bronze and fourth, respectively) well deserved it.
Nico Rodríguez and Támara Echegoyen were the great protagonists of the Gala de la Vela Gallega 1920-21, in the Municipal Auditorium of Vilagarcía de Arousa, led by journalist Tomás Alonso and with the collaboration of the Concello and the Harbour Authority of Vilagarcía, in addition to the Mancomunidade do Salnés and the Depession of Pontevedra.
After the appointment of the "As Travesas" pavilion last year, by the weather, the sailing party returned to an auditorium. There are things that don't change. And for good, because they confirm not only the success of the prizes, but the trajectories. Eighteen years earlier, in the summer of 2003, Támara Echegoyen received an award for her female world title in Vaurien. Now, Támara, absent (the technical director of the RFGV, Bruno Gago, collected her award), has been reawarded because her record, unstoppable, left her near another Olympic presea. It has changed the stage (from the House of Culture to the auditorium now), but not the strength of Echegoyen.
