Patricia Suárez and María Cantero win the medal race and finish the 2021 World Championship

The World Championship 2021 of 49er, 49er FX and Nacra 17 in which they have competed the Galician Patricia Suárez and the canary Maria Cantero in the female Olympic class 49er FX concluded this Sunday in waters of Mussanah, Oman, with a fifth position for the Spanish flag ship.

The Spanish crew played 16 sleeves since last Tuesday and was classified for the medal race (race with double stitching reserved for the ten best crews) in eighth place. After leading the Medal Race from beginning to end the Spanish duo managed to cross the line of arrival in first position and, thanks to the double score of this Medal Race, it rose to the fifth place with 121 points, behind the podium formed by the Netherlands, gold (Odile van Aanholt & Elise Ruyter), Norway, silver (Helene Naess & Marie Ronningen) and the current Brazilian Olympic champions, bronze (Martine Grael & Kahena Kunze) as well as the Finnish in fourth place.
