The World Sailing at its annual meeting of 2021 has amended Regulation 13.1 by which the ORC DOUBLE HANDED WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP is created.

As a result, the ORC and the Real Club Nautico of Barcelona have agreed that the Nautico will be the headquarters of 2023 ORC DOUBLE HANDED WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in place of 2023 ORC DOUBLE HANDED EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP previously assigned.

This decision reaffirms the position of the Barcelona club as a world reference in the organization of international events of these characteristics, as was already the case in 2015 with the 2015 ORC World Cup, the multiple editions of the Vela Conde Godó Trophy and the Puig Vela Classica regatta of Barcelona.
