The World 2021 of 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 begin in Oman

In the race field next to the Barceló Mussanah Resort about 100 km from the capital Mascate, a fleet of almost 150 regatists from 29 countries will compete from this Tuesday and until Sunday 21 November to join the first world podium of the current Olympic preparation cycle.
Tomorrow the 2021 World Championships of the Olympic classes 49er, 49er FX and Nacra 17 begin in Mussanah, Oman, in which the team of 49er FX of Spanish flag formed by the Galician Patricia Suárez and the canary María Cantero participate. This is the first such event following the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the first World Cup on the road to the Paris 2024 JJOO and the first such world to be held on the Asian continent.
The 49er FX fleet includes champions of the size of the Olympic gold medallists Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze (BRA); in 49er the Olympic Lukasz Przybytek and Pawel Kolodzinski (POL), Benjamin Bildstein and David Hussl (AUT), as well as James Peters and Fynn Stortt (GBR), compete. In the mixed class Nacra 17, the Olympic silver medallists John Gimson and Anna Burnet (GBR) and the 2019 World Champions Maelle Frascari and Vittorio Bisaro (ITA) put the high link to the fleet.
