The Alinghi of the shipowner Ernesto Bertarelli has proclaimed himself the winner of the GC32 Mar Minor Cup, the great final of the GC32 Racing Tour 2021.

The strong victory crowns the Swiss team as the GC32 season champion, which closes with three possible four wins and a five-point rent on the class world champion, the Austrian Red Bull Sailing Team.

The Minor Sea fired the first visit of the GC32 with a final day in which the flying catamarans could only contest a test for the complicated wind conditions in the Region of Murcia... after the full five-sleeves menu of the previous day, the breeze fell from intensity on Sunday to stay in the surroundings of the 6-7 knots of the northwest component.

2021-11-06: The foreign legion continues to compete in the GC32 Sea Minor Cup

The last day of the GC32 Mar Minor Cup offered perfect conditions for the flying catamarans, which could complete the program of five planned tests... Alinghi stands firm at the front, but two of his rivals have shown that they also know how to win evidence in the bats.

After Friday's complicated day, when only one sleeve could be disputed, the wind remained between 13 and 15 knots to favor the participants in the third day of competition. The sun ended up going out to encourage the competitors and the large fleet of spectators who had gathered outside the security perimeter to enjoy the GC32 Racing Tour show.

The day began with a surprising victory of the Danish team Rockwool Racing, who was able to read the field and impose on the sprint the Red Bull Sailing Team, patrolling in Murcia by the double Olympic champion of Tornado, Roman Hagara.

In the second and third race, the victory was the current world champion, Team Red Bull Racing. In the second, the exit reedited the duel between Rockwool and Red Bull, with Rockwool leading the exit and Red Bull taking advantage of the power on the right to get ahead of the next top beacon and maintain its advantage to the end.

The competition returns tomorrow, Sunday, with the last day of the GC32 Mar Minor Cup, when the GC32 Racing Tour 2021 champion will be crowned. The first departure of the day is scheduled for 10: 30.

2021-11-05: Swiss GC32 Alinghi and Black Star dominate in the waters of the Minor Sea

Alinghi's victory allows the Swiss team to escape two points in front of the provisional and present their credentials to the title in bats

The wind claimed its share of protagonism and conditioned the second day of competition of the GC32 in the waters of the Minor Sea... the fleet came out into the water with a program of up to three sleeves, but could only complete one under conditions marked by the instability of the wind.

The Regata Committee gave the exit when it seemed that the wind was encouraged to collaborate, although with an intensity below ten knots... the Swiss Alinghi and the French Zoulou were the ones who best read the letters on the table, with clear advantage for the team armed by Ernesto Bertarelli on the final stretch towards the line of arrival.

When it already seemed like a clear victory, Alinghi fell into a wind well on the left side of the field from which he would see Zoulou coming to threaten his leadership. However, the Swiss, twice the American's Cup winners, pulled the experience to cover Erik Maris's GC32 and score the win for just two slices.

2021-11-04: Much equality on the first day of the GC32 Sea Minor

The exciting big end of the GC32 Racing Tour 2021 is held in the bats until next Sunday

The first day of competition of the GC32 Mar Minor Cup was resolved with three tests and tie between the Swiss Alinghi and Black Star Sailing Team in front of the provisional.

The opening of the GC32 flying catamaran competition in the Minor Sea has met the high expectations with which the fleet reached this last quote of the GC32 Racing Tour 2021. After three events in Portugal and Italy, the teams today demonstrated the equality of their performance, and each one was able to enjoy their moment of glory in bats.

The unique features of the Minor Sea, with its combination of little depth, high salinity and the presence of La Manga as a natural barrier to the sea, are exercising excellent regatta field for the GC32 flying catamarans... the second day tomorrow Friday with beginning at one o'clock.

2021-11-03: The show of the GC32 starts in the Manga Mar Minor Cup

All ready in Murcia for the start
of the GC32 Sea Minor Cup

The expectation is maximum in the Region of Murcia for the celebration of the GC32 Mar Minor Cup, the fourth and final test of the GC32 Racing Tour 2021 that will decide the ninth season of competition of the GC32 flying catamarans. The competition program starts at 13: 00 tomorrow, Thursday, November 4, and will end on Sunday, 7.

The Sea Minor Cup will bring together six teams of five nationalities in the final battle for the title: the Swiss Alinghi and Black Star Sailing Team, French Zoulou, Danish Team Rockwool Racing, Austrian Red Bull Sailing Team and American Argo.

Having won the first two tests of the season in Lagos (Portugal), the Alinghi of the Swiss shipowner Ernesto Bertarelli arrives in Murcia with a three-point advantage in front of the circuit provisional and is the maximum aspirant to the title.

But in a fleet made up of several of the best navigation specialists onfoilsof the world, the favorite vitola does not guarantee anything, as the team could see in the GC32 World Championship disputed last September in the Italian town of Villaimius.

On the last day of the competition, the leader escaped a victory that seemed clear on the last stretch of the last manga by a break, putting on a tray the title of world champion to his immediate persecutor, the Austrian Red Bull Sailing Team.
