Jesper Larsen, owner of the Lazy Dog, a Grand Soleil 45 of the Náutic Masnou Club, yesterday raised the precious trophy as the absolute winner of the third edition of the Golden Cup Barcelona Marina Vela Regata... after staying at the door of achieving it in the first edition of 2020, the team with a majority of Danish crew, has managed to impose its domain on this occasion, rising with the victory in both the absolute general and the category of Full Crew.
The Marjuin, Grand Soleil 50 of the Andorran Pere Roquet, of the Nautico el Balís Club, sailing in A2 next to Toni Planet, were raised with the victory in Real Time and in the category of Reduced Crew.
The second position in the category of Tripulación Reducida was for the Aral, Dehler 34 of Ferran Teva, also tripulated A2 and defending the gallarate of the Nautical Club el Balís.
The reduced crew podium was completed by the lone navigator Jaume Mercader of the Nautical Club of Premià de Mar, with the X372 Zeta.
The Dutch team Yellow Rose, an X35 by Marten Jan Ringers, made things very difficult for the winners, and finally they were left out of victory for a little margin of 4 minutes and 23 seconds, reaching the second position of both the General Classification and the category of Full Tripulation, in which the Nirvana, Hanse 470 patronized by José Martín Santiago of the Vilanova Nautical Club, was raised with the third position.
Isidre Martín at the helm of the Miraboud, Imoca 60, a school ship of the Foundation for Ocean Navigation of Barcelona, won the victory in the category promotion.
2021-10-31: The Golden Cup Marina Vela began in Barcelona, heading for Vilanova i la Geltru

Despite the difficulties with the wind, 17 ships left Barcelona today... which is not bad at all.
The third edition of the Golden Cup Barcelona Marina Vela Regata in front of the Barceloneta beach, in full waters that bathe the City of Condal, began at 11: 30 in the morning.
The departure, initially scheduled for Saturday, had been postponed by the unfavourable weather conditions experienced yesterday... the postponement has also meant a reduction of the route, which will finally be Barcelona- Vilanova i la Geltrú- Barcelona, with just over half a hundred miles... and a smooth wind of 7 knots.
The international fleet is well represented by the Dutch team of the Yellow Rose, an X-35, the Belgians of the Diabolic, Sun Fast 35, the Danish team of the Lazy Dog, Grand Soleil 45, the French of the Colibri V, Dehler 34 as well as the Andorran Pere Roquet on board the Gran Soleil Marjuin.
Among the national teams, mention is made of the presence of a team of the club ORZA de Getxo, the Fugis II, Oceanis 411, as well as of the Imoca 60, a school ship of the Foundation for Ocean Navigation of Barcelona, with Isidre Martí at the helm.
