The IQFoil European Championship came to an end today in the waters of Marseille with two Spanish regatists, Pilar Lamadrid and Nicole van der Velden, in the Continental Top10 with a fifth and a seventh place respectively.

The Medal Series has consisted of three tests, contested with winds up to 17 knots, in which the eight participants split with twice as many points as their position in the classification phase. Pilar Lamadrid performed a 3-4-4 and Nicole van der Velden a 5-6-7, which resulted in an escalation of one post for both in the final classification.

The French Helene Noesmoen, the current champion of the world, is also the champion of Europe. He was accompanied on the podium by the British Islay Watson and the Israli Shachar Reshef. France also takes the male title with the victory of Nicolas Goyard, followed by the Dutch Huig Jan Tak and Luuc van Opzeeland. The first Spanish representative of the classification has been Tomás Vieito in position 23.

In view of the competition for the Olympic country squares for Paris 2024, Spain is located in Top10 in both categories, with a fourth place per country among the girls and a ninth among the boys.
