The RCN Calpe Light Sailing Trophy 2021 already has new champions. A valid edition for the ILCA Autonomous Cup, ranking of the Federation of Vela de la Comunitat Valenciana, which has been marked by weather conditions.
The favorites have met in all classes, both in the 420, with a marked color of the CN Jávea at the top of the two podium squares, and in the ILCA within their respective categories, especially in the 6 with Mariano Cebrián (CN Benidorm) and in the 7 with Gonzalo Suárez (CN Jávea).
Ángel Poveda and Joel Ferrer (CN Jávea) have been made with the Calpine title, thanks to two partial triumphs on Saturday, after an intense rain first thing in the morning. Maximum equality in the back with Lucy Crosibe and Arantza Reig, first female and second of the absolute general, marking partial of 2-3, while Guillermo Serrat and Aleksis Tjurins (CN Altea), with 2-3, have been third (2nd in SUB19).
The ILCA 4 fleet has not had it easy in Calpe Bay. With a test completed after the brazasca, Alcazareño Nacho Gambín (CN Mar Menor) won. He also met the forecasts of being from above the torreviejense Adriana Castro (RCN Torrevieja), as he went up to the podium as the first female and second of the general, who has been accompanied by Aitana Baeza (RCR Cartagena) and Marina Ruíz (CN Mar Minor).
The podium in boys has been completed with Pau Ravié (CN Campello) and Borja Pastor (RCN Torrevieja), the first of them with a fifth place the second one set behind the absolute general.
Manolo Cebrián (CN Benidorm) was one of the great favorites in ILCA 6 and has made good forecasts, even despite the bad weather conditions for the entire fleet. With two partial wins Cebrian is first. The script of favorites with Claudia Adam (CN Altea) and María Martínez (RCR Santiago de la Ribera) has also been completed. Both have been first and second in females respectively. Adam started loose, 10th in the first test, improving in the second with 2nd since he was going to allow him to end up ahead of Martínez, as the bat has closed its participation with 4-8 partials.
Carlos Casanueva (RCM Santander) and Roca Ascension (RCN Torrevieja) achieve the first place in the APM category (Apprenz Master), José Juan Sánchez in GGMM, René Velázquez (RC Astur Regatas) in GMM and Alfonso Moreno (CR Madrid) in MM.
With two tests completed the ILCA 7 make up a podium that was planned. The great favorite, Gonzalo Suárez (CN Altea) hangs the gold, also first in the SUB21, while the Valencian Marcos Altarriba (RCN Valencia), which has been second, hangs the gold in SUB19. Carlos Martínez (RCR Santiago de la Ribera) third in the absolute general, has been first in GM (Gran Master).
