The Catalan Gisela Polido, the only national representative in the Medal Series, signs a tenth first in its first world Olympic cycle
Torregrande, Sardinia, fired the Formula Kite World Championship with the just wind conditions to fight the Medal Series, in which Gisela Polido was the only Spanish participant ending in the 13th position.
With a seventh place in the preliminary series, the Catalan one won a place in the Medal Series, which began with the semi-final tests disputed among the regatists classified from post 3 to 14.
After a championship in which Pulido has always been at the top, he was forced to give everything without great aspirations. A 6-4 in the two semifinals was finally placed at 11 in the final classification, which has been led by American Daniela Moroz. Marta Sánchez, second member of the Spanish women's team, was ranked in the tenth position of the silver group.
The male title has been left in the hands of the French Theo de Ramecourt, with the Spanish Alex Citation at position 21, and Bernat Cortés sixth in the bronze group.

The first World Championship of the Formula Kite class as Olympic discipline will be decided tomorrow in the waters of Torregrande, Sardinia, with the Catalan Gisela Pulido competing for one place in the final by the medals, reserved only to four regatists.
Polido has completed the seventh-position classification phase and this result has been valid for the pass to one of the two semi-finals that will decide the last two posts of the great final, to which the first two classified, Daniela Moroz (United States) and Ellie Aldridge (United Kingdom), have direct access.
In the male fleet, the Valencian Alex Citation, twenty-second in the provisional general, has been the best classified Spanish regatist and only national representative to get the pass to the gold group. Citation completed the previous phases with several posts within the top 10 of its fleet but in the gold group races it failed to maintain these results and ended up outside the final sleeves that will be held tomorrow.

The world title of Formula Kite is put into play in the waters of Sardinia, with the presence of four Spanish regatists: Gisela Pulido, Marta Sánchez, Alex Climent and Bernat Cortés.
The Catalan Gisela Pulido faces this world after she ranked ninth in the European Championship last September. The second Spanish representative is the Alicantina Marta Sánchez, the current Spanish champion of the class. In the male division, the Spanish champion, dianense Alex Citation, and Catalan Bernat Cortés will compete.
The Spanish team, accompanied by RFEV technician Antonio Minguez, has spent ten days training in Torregrande, the championship headquarters, polishing technical and tactic in this bay and are ready to fight for the inaugural world title of the Olympic cycle.
