It ended in Porto Cervo the end of theSailing Champions League, European League of Sailing Champions. Participation in this European final was limited to the national champions of each country, and to a number of ships that managed to qualify in the previous semi-finals of Kiel in August and St. Petersburg in September.
In September the lanzaroteños managed to impeccably impose themselves in the semi-final held in the cold Russian waters, with a crew formed by Nano Negrín to the cane, Gonzalo Morales and Ricardo Terrades to the trimming and Rafa Lasso at the bow.. by the end of Porto Cervo, the team changed part of its members, taking Nete Armas the cane commands instead of Negrín, and Tomás Fuentes replacing Gonzalo Morales, while Rafa Lasso and Ricardo Terrades remained.
The final was marked by a strong temporary that forced the race committee to suspend the day of official training and the first day of competition. The Spaniards went from less to more... but in the end they were the thirteenth in the general... the final victory was for Finland, followed by Switzerland... being the bronze for Denmark and the fourth place for the Germans.
