The spectacular Mat wins in the first edition of the Ibiza JoySail

The ships were about an hour and a half on the high seas waiting for some breeze to enter with which to start the test, but the wind did not make an act of presence and at 15 hours, the day was considered to be over and therefore the first edition of the Ibiza JoySail, so the Moat was automatically proclaimed winner
The Moat, of the shipowner Juan Ball, has been the first ship to register its name in the winning palmarés of the Ibiza JoySail. The first edition of this Maxis and Superyachts race has been a success, although the wind did not want to appear either in the opening or in the closing. The two intermediate days could still be held with a return to Formentera and a carousel through Ibiza Bay.
The fourth and last day promised to be very disputed between the Swan 115 Moat, who arrived as leader and the YD 120 Bliss who made it second but tied to points but with the Ball boat first by having won the last test; thus the last day had a view to be decisive. The duel between the first two was assured, the one who won the confrontation between the two would be the winner of the Ibiza JoySail, as the Swan 115 Shamanna and the Swan 80 Dark Horse, was third and fourth classified from the general. Morgan Jones, the owner and reed of the Dark Horse, took the Corinthian prize.
But the rain and the low wind marked the Sunday morning, which the Regata Committee decided to postpone on land until 1.30 p.m., when they sent the fleet to the sea. The Bliss was the first to leave port, as the tie to points did not serve him because he won the Moat the last contest on Saturday.

The second day of the Ibiza JoySail was a 30-mile water carousel from the southwest of Ibiza. The Swan 115 Moat was the great protagonist by imposing itself in real time and in compensation, allowing it to reach the final day leading the 3-point classification with the YD 120 Bliss, thus both ships will play the victory of the Ibiza JoySail on the final day.
The starting point was the same as that of the return to Formentera, opposite the Punta de Sa Pedrera, although in this case the fleet went towards Es Vedrà, iconic image of the Pitiüsas islands. The exit was reversed, from minor to greater with the Swan 80 Dark Horse first and the Swan 115 Moon last. The other Swan 115, Shamanna, who sails with reduced crew, left late, which made his Moat twin quickly hunt him.
The Moat, in which Joan Vila sailed, considered to be the best navigator in the world, and with the striker Cali Sanmarti, among his 30 crew, quickly took the direct one and had already passed the entire fleet in the passage through Es Vedrà. From there it was a matter of time.
The first leader, the YD 120 Bliss, followed his wake from afar, along with the other Swan 115 Shamanna, who did not sail with the first day's release, was throughout the race in one hand to the Bliss. In the end it would be Bliss who would finish second and Shamanna, third in today's test. The Dark Horse, the smallest ship in the fleet, as was the case in the return to Formentera, sailed away from the rest in fourth position.
Tomorrow Sunday will be a last manga of this first edition of the Ibiza JoySail.

The YD 120, Bliss is the first leader of the Joy Sail Ibiza. The largest ship in the fleet, without being the fastest, was the winner of the coastal race in compensated time.
In real, the Swan 115 Moat was the fastest to turn to the island of Formentera after a little more than three and a half hours, about 40 nautical miles, but it would be second in the general after the time compensation and the Swan 115 Shamanna, third.
After not being able to validate last Thursday the journey between Mallorca and Ibiza due to the lack of wind, on this first day on the Pitiüsas islands the wind did accompany, blowing from the southwest of about 11 knots of intensity, so the Committee of Regatas decided to realize the coast this same Friday.
The line of departure was mounted in front of the Port of the Savina of Formentera, as it is used to pass in races of Maxis and Superyachts, the ships were stepped out every two minutes on reverse exit, being the Swan 80, Dark Horse to cross the first line and followed by the YD 120, Bliss, and the Swan 115 Shamanna and Moat.
With a view to the weekend and with the already disputed coast, there will be several short tours off the coast of Ibiza.

Everything was prepared in the inaugural day of the Ibiza JoySail race to live the journey between Mallorca and Ibiza, in search of the first record between the two islands with exit from the Cala Figuera lighthouse to the island of Tagomago, about 50 nautical miles. But finally it could not be done due to the total absence of wind, so this record that was wanted to play in this first Ibiza JoySail, must wait for the next edition of this new exclusive race for Maxis and Superyachts.
The Regatas Committee tried for about two hours, but as the conditions did not improve and the wind did not exceed 3 knots of intensity, they decided to cancel this long race and send the fleet to Ibiza with the intention that from tomorrow Friday they can already fight until Sunday coastal races off the coast of Ibiza and Formentera.
For the Friday day, with departure from Marina Ibiza, the wind forecast is good, so the Regatas Committee will try to organize the tour that best suits the conditions for the Maxis participants, the two Swan 115, Moat and Shamanna; the YD 120 Bliss; the Swan 100 Redsky and Swan 80 Dark Horse; start to compete and deploy their spectacular velamen by pitiüsous waters.
