Esther Briz and Ander Martín hang again the gold after the one achieved in the World Cup of Beach Sprint the previous week... Jaime Canalejo, sixth in Tokyo 2020 in Olympic oar, rises to the first drawer in the male solo and is silver in the double mixed

Last weekend, the World Sea Remo Championship was held in Oeiras (Portugal). A total of forty-one national teams took part in the world event, in which Spain imposed itself on the medallion by awarding a total of seven medals, including two oros.

The first gold medal obtained by the Spanish expedition was obtained by the Olympic Jaime Canalejo (Club Náutico de Sevilla), who was sixth in Tokyo 2020 in Olympic rowing with his partner Javier García. The Andaluz was imposed on the male solo (CM1x). In the same test was bronze another Spanish, the three-time world champion in the category, Adrián Miramón (Club De Mar Clot de L'Illot Campello).

The girls were huge, sensational in Portuguese waters...

The second gold medal was achieved by Esther Briz and Ander Martín (Royal Labrador Circle) in the double mixed. The couple repeated first place after the one at the Beach Sprint World Cup. But this was a historical podium as it was completed by two other Spanish couples. On the one hand, Jaime Canalejo along with Natalia de Miguel (Real Club Mediterranean of Malaga) achieved the silver and on the other, the bronze was for Adrián Miramón and Nadia Felipe (Club de Mar Clot de L'Illot de Campello).

Two more bronzes were added to these five metals during the weekend. The four female timonel (CW4x +) of the Royal Nautical Club of Malaga was the first ship to get in the drawer. This team was formed by the sisters Natalia and Celia of Miguel, Teresa Díaz and Marta de las Heras. While the ship of the Royal Circle of Labradores, composed of Ruben Padilla and Patricio Rojas, did the same in the male double (CM2x).

... and the boys too...

With the sum of two oros, one silver and four bronzes, the World Championship medal was led by the Spanish delegation. Asunción Loriente, president of the Spanish Federation of Remo, received the plaque that recognized Spain as the best country of the event.
