The new Endurance categories will be released at Baiona: Promotion 150 (P), Boat Production 300 (B) and Sport 450 (S)
The International Union of Motoronautics, based in Monaco, granted Baiona the holding of one of the two tests of the Endurance European Championship, together with the Italian city of Ravenna.
The International also granted Baiona the celebration of one of three tests of the Endurance World Championship, being equator between the first that hosted the Italian city of Rodi Garganico, with waters of the Adriatic Sea that shares off the coast of Montenegro, and the third, in the Malagasy Benalmádena... more will be held the Spanish Championship of the modality, which will implement the number of pilots participating.
Galicia has extensive experience in this type of boat. Not in vain Vigo hosted a test of the European in the Marisquiño of 2017 and Sanxenxo was also unique enclave of the continental, in 2019. But it had never been possible so far for a Spanish town to host a European, a world and a Spanish championship.
It should be noted that the call has been a success, with 20 confirmed vessels, with pilots who will be ambassadors of countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Kuwait and Spain. Our country has a wide representation, among which are the Viguese Keko Pereira, José and Yeray Lorenzo, who have already tasted the world's podiums.
The Endurance is a type of boat that has a length of approximately 7 to 9 meters, engines that reach a speed of 70-80 knots and a crew composed of pilot and co-pilot.
The tour is mounted on a circuit between buoys in the Ensenada de Baiona, with a length of 3.5 nautical miles (6.5 km) to which you will have to take 10 turns to complete 35 miles of total tour, about 65 km. and whose career control will be located at the viewpoint of the Sculpture of Soledad Penalta, in Santa Marta... the competition consists of two tests, one Saturday afternoon at 5: 00 pm and one second on Sunday at 12: 00 pm.
