The sailboat of Harm Müller-Spreer wins the Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week and they accompany him on the podium of the Alegre and the Quantum Racing

Platoon today became the winner of the Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week. The ship of the shipowner Harm Müller-Spreer did so without having to put into play his leadership as no exits could be given because of the lack of wind. On the podium of the Mahon Maritime Club he was accompanied by the Alegre de Andrés Soriano and the Quantum de Doug DeVos.

For Platoon this is the fourth win in a race, after those he won in 2017 in Scarlino and in 2019 here in Menorca and Puerto Portals. The last two times the race has emphasized on the island the triumph has gone to the German ship in which are the Spanish Víctor Mariño, Javier de la Plaza and the Majorcan Jordi Calafat. With this Müller-Spreer win, he issues with the Ran as the third team that has won the most events in the competition only over Quantum and Azzurra.

Today it was not possible to haggle over the instability of a loose wind that began from the north and was rolling to the east without any room for a way out of the fleet. Finally, María Torrijo, head of the Regatas Committee, sent the fleet to the ground at 2.30 p.m. and concluded the competition.

2021-10-02: White day in Menorca... the final solution of the 52 in the last act

The Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week ends tomorrow after today the lack of wind has prevented the performance of races

The swords are all high. The Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week will crown its winner tomorrow after today it has not been possible to dispute either of the two sleeves that were planned and are all to be decided. Thus, the Platoon of Harm Müller-Spreer remains in the lead with two points of advantage over the Alegre of Andrés Soriano and five over the Quantum of Doug DeVos.

In case of being able to compete the two sleeves tomorrow the fight is still very open and there are up to six teams separated by only seven points that could choose to win in Menorca. The general of the circuit is also very open... in which there is also a very open fight with four teams separated by one point: Platoon, Quantum, Alegre and Sled.

2021-09-30: Platoon takes in command in the 52 Super Series of Menorca

The ship of Harm Müller-Spreer overcomes the Alegre with a win and a fourth place on the third day of the Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week... Quantum was the strongest today.

Platoon of Harm Müller-Spreer is the new leader of the Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week that is disputed from the Mahon Maritime Club. The German sailboat overtook the Alegre general after making a quarter and a first in the two sleeves. Quantum Racing goes to the podium after signing two solid seconds, while the Sled won the first sleeve of the day.

The favorite theorists to the final triumph in Menorcan waters, today took a blow to the table to present their candidacy for the triumph in Mahon... Platoon, Sled and Quantum, and we must not forget Bronenosec, they returned from the water with very solid results and that has served the four to close the classification with the Alegre that today has had a complicated day with a seventh and a tenth.

Again today the race field of the Mahono Maritime Club was an excellent place to compete... the two exits were given punctual and with a north wind of 16 knots blowing from the north constantly and solidly. In the second sleeve the wind fell to 12 knots.

In the first manga of the day it was a coup of luck that gave the victory to Sled... in the second it was Platoon who was most consistent in the exit and from there could dominate the rest of the fleet.

2021-09-29: The Joy of Andrew Soriano is established in Mahon in the leadership of the 52

The Festival of Alegre in Menorca continues

Alegre is still sweet. The English ship of the shipowner Andrés Soriano today won the two sleeves disputed in the Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week and is in the first position of the general in which he is followed by the Phoenix and the Platoon. Today's day was fought with perfect wind conditions in the regatta field of the Mahon Maritime Club.

Alegre's solvency in Menorca is record. Since 2014 no team had won the first three sleeves of a race. Then the Quantum did it in Key West. It's been seven years for a team to match that record. The equality that reigns in the menorcan race has not affected the Soriano ship that is embroidering the navigation and already has 10 points of advantage in the general over the second and third classified: Phoenix and Platoon. There is still a lot of race ahead with six more sleeves planned from tomorrow to Saturday, but Alegre is making a race that impresses the rest.

General classification

2021-09-28: The 52 Super Series begins in Mahon with surprise... Rejoice first leader

The Alegre is the first leader of the 52 Super Series race in Mahon on a very complicated day of little wind in which an exit was given

Alegre is the first leader of the Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week. The sailboat of the shipowner Andrés Soriano won the only manga that could be disputed due to very loose and variable wind conditions and returned to the Mahono Maritime Club in the head of the fleet. In podium positions he is accompanied by the Bronenosec and Phoenix.

The first and only sleeve was released on time at 12.30 p.m., taking advantage of minimum conditions for a race. There were 6 knots of north wind that rolled a little to the left after the first stretch of stern. The conditions were very changing in intensity and wind course, which made all the ships have to tune their tactics to the maximum. On the way out those who left the committee were much more committed to the traffic there. Quantum and Vayu made an off-line and the American ship had problems repassing the starting line as it was built into the fleet. That time it took to return was crucial and from that moment on it was no longer able to recover positions.

Those who left on the side of the viewer had more space to sail and some more wind, within the little there was. Phoenix was the most regular in the manga and went first through the barlovento buoy followed by Paprec and Gladiator.

In the first stern it was the Alegre who best read the race field from a seventh up to a second in a sotavento. And already in the second stretch of girth, the ship of Andrés Soriano took on the first position that he no longer left.

He also made a good return on Vladimir Liubomirov's Bronenosec that finished second while Tony Norris's solid Phoenix and Ed Baird made a good third... Alegre did not win a manga since March 2019 in Cape Town.

Menorca 52 Super Series Classification

1-Alegre (GBR) (Andrés Soriano) 1 point
2-Bronenosec Gazprom (RUS) (Vladimir Liubomirov) 2

8-Provides (TUR) (Ergin Imre) 8

2021-09-23: All set in Menorca for the act of the 52 Super Series

11 teams will be from Tuesday to Saturday competing for the triumph from the Mahon Maritime Club. Bruni, Baird and the Weiller Ballet are among the last crew records

As the regatists begin to arrive in Menorca, the eleven ships that will compete from next Tuesday 28 to Saturday 2 in Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week are already tied in the pants closest to the Mahono Maritime Club. It will be the fourth time that the most important race in the world for monocasque ships will visit the island to shoot after the 2016, 2017 and 2019 editions.

The great news in Mahon will be the return of French Paprec by Jean Luc Petithugeunin and the premiere of the Thai flag sailing boat, Vāyu, which was already in Portals in the Invitational race, but which in Menorca joins the fleet driven by the Whitcraft family.

And the teams are coming up with some changes in their structures with respect to the crews that competed a little less than a month ago in Puerto Portals... without going further the winner of the first race of the 2021 season, the Sled, has had to face relief due to the travel restrictions of the pandemic... again, its shipowner and cane, Takashi Okura, will not be able to be in front of his ship, and it will be Murray Jones who will carry the cane of the American sailboat as he has done successfully in Portals.

Okura will not be the only loss on the team since several of its Nipon regatists have not traveled and neither has its solid tactical Adam Beassel that will be replaced in the second race of the season by Italian Francesco Bruni.
