Radical change in the second day of the Spanish Snipe Master Championship, which is held until this Sunday in Puerto Sherry, in El Puerto de Santa María. After a first day of light winds, on this mid-day the ponder rolled the 15 knots - limit intensity in this class - which caused changes in the head of the table. Fabio Bruggioni (RCN Madrid) and Víctor Pérez (Ca'n Pastilla) have been placed at the head of the general after four tests after performing a 5-7 today. They are followed by José Luis Maldonado and Alexandre Tinoco (RCN Valencia) and Fernando León and Antonio Del Castillo-Olivares (RCN Gran Canaria), seconds and third, respectively.
From the first sleeve it was seen that it would not be an easy day. Winds of 12 knots of intensity that were rising as the day progressed. José Luis Maldonado, who is a team with Brazilian world champion Alexandre Tinoco, was the best one to read the race field. It was not easy, as in these conditions choosing the good board is fundamental. The Valencian team was able to take off from the rest of the fleet and face the last two sections with sufficient advantage to gain with relative tranquility. The struggle came from behind between the Andalusian Ángel Ballesteros - the current champion of Spain Master - and Sonia Hidalgo (RCN Motril); with two other ships, that of the Olympic champion Fernando León and Del Castillo- Olivares and the local of Juan Castañeda (Naval Commission of Regatas) and Pablo Alcina (CD Flea Snipe Cádiz), who followed this order, second, third and fourth in a last stretch of very disputed and full of alternatives.
In the second test of the day, the fleet was betting from the first moment to go out by the race committee and sail the board of land; but in the end, those who chose the left sailed more free and took advantage of this situation. The canarian crew Francisco Javier Lorenzo and Eduardo Cebrián (RCN Tenerife) would win the manga, followed by a very consistent León / Del Castillo- Olivares that would be second and Ballesteros / Hidalgo, third. The Maldonado / Tinoco duo was in fourth position.
The brothers Kiko and Gerardo Oses (CD Fleet of Snipe Cadiz / RCN Cadiz), who led the general after the first day, had no choice after performing on this second day a 33 and a 26, down to the seventh position on the table. For this Sunday's day, the last two tests are scheduled to be held from 12: 00 noon, and then the trophies will be delivered on the terrace of the Hotel Puerto Sherry.
2021-09-17: Kiko and Gerardo Oses lead the National of Snipe Master in Puerto Sherry

World master champion Damian Borras occupies third place
The Gaditans Kiko and Gerardo Oses (CD Fleet of Snipe de Cadiz / RCN Cadiz) are the first leaders of the Spanish Snipe Master Championship, which started this Friday in the waters of Puerto Sherry, in El Puerto de Santa María, and will end next Sunday day 19. The second square is occupied by the Madrid crew of Fabio Bruggioni and Víctor Pérez (RCN Madrid / Calanova) tied to points with the former. Third the Menorquins Damián Borras and Juan Magro (CM Mahón).
The first day has been spectacular with a soft south-west wind (220º-240º) of about 8-9 knots of intensity, very stable, which has allowed the first two tests of the Spanish Snipe Master Championship to be held, where the fleet has sailed very well.
In the first test of the day, the victory was carried by Bruggioni and Victor Pérez. Last summer, Bruggioni already took the Anniversary Trophy in these same waters, with what they already know what it's like to win in the bay of Cadiz. They began again with victory, but the test was very open as in the first section they were José Luis Maldonado and Alexandre Tinoco (RCN Valencia) who dominated, followed by Borrás and Magro. In the last stern but, Bruggioni and Pérez and the Ores - father and son - would get over them entering first and second respectively, while world master champion Damian Borras with Juan Magro, made him third.
In the second, the wind conditions were similar. Kiko and Gerardo Oses, they proved to be great dominators of the bay of Cadiz; and if in the first manga they had been second, in this they entered first; Bruggioni and Pérez did second; thus they exchanged positions, finishing the two crews tied to three points, with the Gaditans as leaders having won the last test of the day. Third parties were again the Borras and Magro menorquins, the same position they occupy in the general.
Two points from the podium is the champion of Europe, Alejandro Fresneda and Javier López (CM Almería) two points from the honours, after two quarters. The Olympic champion in Atlanta 96, Fernando León - one of the attractions of the champion - who sails next to Antonio del Castillo-Olivares (RCN Gran Canaria) occupies the ninth position after performing a 5-13.
By tomorrow Saturday it is planned that the start of the tests will be at 13 hours with departure from the CN Puerto Sherry... so is the general after the first day:
1 Kiko Oses / Gerardo Oses, 3 points
2 Fabio Bruggioni / Victor Pérez, 3
3 Damian Borras / Juan Magro, 6
4 Alejandro Fresneda / Javier López, 8
5 José Luis Maldonado / Alexandre Tinoco, 14
