Finished a good Prince of Asturias with the best Galician-Lusian ORC

Good level in ORC... but in honor of the truth very covered by the Organization, with so many classes... at least... to meditate on the style of the latest editions (Photo Lalo R.Villar)

The three-year edition of the Prince of Asturias Trophy, which was supported by Abanca, who followed the organizational line of the last few years with a great deal of class, was completed... in a fantastic place such as the historical site of the Parador Conde de Gondomar... all of which was directed by the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona, which has been a partner since 1986 in the very pretigious institution of the Military Naval School of Marin.

The worst is the list of winners... which is like in the King's Cup tremendously exaggerated from any point of view... and that this year were the best of each of its categories Solventis, Oils Abril, Maracana I, Bosch Service Solutions, Marcolfo, Salseiro, Etnia Barcelona and Erizana...

Among the great ones, that is, in ORC1 was the victory of the Solventis who managed to impose on its rivals in length, in the two valid sleeves... the second final place was for the Xekmatt of José Carlos Prista of the Lisbon Naval Association... being third Julio Rodríguez with his beautiful Swan 42 Magical of the Real Nautical Club of Vigo.

April Oils of Luis and Jorge Pérez Canal... also from the Olive Nautico, ahead of the Yess Racing of the Lusitano Rui Ramada in ORC2, which competes for Mount Real, and the Marías of Manel María Cunha, also of Baiona.

Bosch Service Solutions by Ramón Ojea of the Marítimo de Canido Club has no rival in the ORC3, and as in the Maeloc Ríuas Baixas, he counted his races with first... followed him in the podium the UrbáPaz of the Coruñés Fran Edreira, closing the podium Eleko-Mambo of the vigués Carlos Sampedro... the last two with the flag of the Club Marítimo La Penela, of Ferrolterra.

Maracaná I of Luis Suárez of the Club Marítimo de Panxón, condemned the quote of the Monte Real taking the final victory in ORC4. The second and third positions were the Javier Pérez Orion of the Yates Club and the Sadamar Alma do Mar de Nito Enríquez del Marítimo La Penala.

With a coastal tour that had to be shortened by the fall of the wind in the ORC5, only the Marcolfo of Antonio Gómez del Náutico de Vigo managed to complete the test within the time limit, and was first proclaimed winner in its category. In the back, the second place was finally taken by the José Rey's Nejra Chispa and the third was the Five Albariño Islands of Iñaki Carbajo... the two of the Beluso Nautical Club.

In the tailor drawer of the ORC in the style of the other classic... which is a capital error to allow it in first-level races such as the Prince... the Open Class has been created that sounds very fine, but that actually brings together all the ships that reclaim to compete in the strictest classes, but that curiously seek to win a category with the solvency of which we can call serious... Salseiro del Náutico de La Coruña, won in front of the Nahela de Víctor Manuel Alvarez del Alagua, and the Villano de Luis Bodelón del Real Club Náutico de La Coruña.

In J80, with very bad wind conditions, only one legal test was done... but for the hair... in which Etnia Barcelona of Peru Múgica won. With this result, the team representing the Royal Maritime Club of Santander achieved a tie in the lead with the Okofen of Javier de la Gandara, which was resolved in favor of the Santanderinos, being the winners of the last test. The Okofen was second and the third position was for La Galera del Coruñés Miguel Fernández Vasco.

The Erizana de Sara Carmo (Marina Burriananova - Som Vela) in the Ladies Cup, the second place was taken by the Serralleiras patroniado by Eva González (RCM Santander) and third were the regatists of the Tutatis with Helena Alegre (RCN Palma) to the cane.

In the last hour of the afternoon, the award of trophies was held at the Club de Yates de Baiona, in which, in addition to all the reported, the trophies of winners were delivered in ORC 0-1, 2-3 and 4-5 of the Trophy President of the Xunta of Galicia... to the Mirfak of Diego López of the Naval Commission of Ferrol Regatas, Urbapaz of Fran Edreira of the Club Marítimo la Penela and to 3D Atlantic Printing of the Real Club Nautico of La Coruña, respectively. The Don Juan de Borbón Trophy is also given to the best ship with Portuguese crew: the Yess Racing of Rui Ramada, while Javier de la Gandara as owner and patron of the Okofen, received the trophy to the best J80 of the season... Finally the Txole received a distinction for having sailed with crew of ASEM Galicia.

Second day of the Prince of Astorias- Abanca Trophy that have organized since 1986 the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona and the Military Naval School of Marin... and this time at least the wind blew enough, so that the boxes of the great length and with all the technical blessings... would begin to function... verbifrica those that participate in the Prince,

In ORC1, the Swan 42 de Julio Rodríguez achieved a second and a first, which is good for him to send... ahead of the Solventis de Malalo Bermudez de Castro based on Mount Real, being the third provisionally for the lisboeta Xekmatt of José Carlos Prista with grympola of the Naval Association.

Bosch Service Solution by Ramón Ojea del Marítimo de Canido was the best of the day in ORC3 with two of two... followed by the UrbáPaz of Fran Edreira del Marítimo la Penela and third a pattern of the historic Yates Club, but currently competes also for the Club de Ferrolterra: la Penela... with its Eleko Mambo Carlos Sampedro Curbera.

Maracaná I of Luis Suárez del Marítimo de Panxón commands in the ORC4, behind Sadamar Alma do Mar de Nito Enríquez de La Penela and the third march is the Orion of Javier Pérez del Monte Real.

The José Rey's Nejra Chispa based in Beluso leads the Gaddis Trophy... as it was the best among the ORC5, second is the Marcolfo of Antonio Gómez del Náutico de Vigo and third five Albariño Islands of Iñaki Carbajo, also representing the Beluso Náutico Club.

In addition, Salseiro de Manuel Blanco dominates the Open class in which the participation of the Txole with a crew of the Galician Asoation against neuromuscular diseases had to be highlighted. Javier Gandara with his Okofen (as not) dominates J80 and the Gestllar Ladies Cup, the Portuguese Olympic Sara Carmo is the leader of this competition in the Figaros of the School of Sailing of Mount Real.

The last trials to be held will be those in charge of deciding the winners of the Prince of Asturias Trophy, and although everything will depend on the wind conditions, the Committee will be able to start the tests from 12: 00 for all classes. In the afternoon, at 6: 30, the closing.

Astorias-Abanca in Baiona at its opening

Photo by Lalo R.Villar of the day toast... and the camera of the great Lalo can't hide it

First day of the Prince of Asturias Trophy that organize the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona and the Naval School of Marin, and that has the sponsorship and Abanca... and first day faithful to the statistics that pray that the first part of September, is not the best time of the year to organize regats in the Rías Baixas of Galicia... and that is that the wind played a bad pass to the most important race of the Iberian Atlantic... because it just appeared to drop the show.

Hard punishment of fate for an organizational team in command of Alechu Retolaza that has worked many hours, so that we can organize an event with this cold with what we are suffering, economic problems and health misfortunes. I wish Friday would forget fast, so fast tomorrow is just a bad day.

They could only complete regatta that are accessory: the Solventis J80 and the Managed Ladies Cup... that is, the J80 and Figaro that owns Mount Real for their school and for sages like this. The news was that the great Javier de la Gandara had not just been a leader, as this post was for El Albortp- Maui Jim that weapon and patron, that good pattern of cruises that is Juan Carlos Ameneiro... in the group after Ameneiro and Gandara with Okofen, the Spanish champion of the Finnish class... the Coruñés Miguel Fernández Vasco of the Real Nautical Club of La Coruñ. being the fourth the Etnia Barcelona of Peru Múgica, of the Real Club Maritime of Santander.

In the girls of the Ladies Cup (to which it was named the most prominent Comodoro del Monte Real in its history, Estanislao Durán, 25 years ago... the Olympic Lusian Sara Carmo was defeated, being the second place for the Vizcana crew of the Abra Marítimo, capitalized by Carmen Galdós, completing this provisional podium the crew of the Marítimo de Santander with Eva González as patron. For tomorrow more... see if with the wind regulation for this great race.

2021-09-02: Prince Asturias with 75 ships and a good level begins in Baiona of the hand of Abanca

Beautiful photograph of the year 2020... work of that piece of master of photography that Lalo R. Villar... that reflects the level of the last edition of the Prince... and this year will not be inferior, at all

It begins in the waters of the Rías Baixas de Galicia, the race created in 1986 in honor of Don Felipe de Borbón and Greece... the competition organized by the Monte Real Club of Yates and the Military Naval School with the sponsorship of Abanca that meets its thirty-sixth edition, bringing together more than four hundred athletes aboard 75 ships... quantity that has been considered as the maximum of participation, because of the health problem we are suffering.

For Friday's day the ORC fleet (Class 0 to 4) will have a coastal snack race beginning at 3: 00 p.m.... half an hour later sticks for the J80 monotypes and for the half-dozen Figaro Beneteau del Monte Real that will compete at the Ladies Cup Management.

In the Príncipe- Principe race, the Swan 42 Magical armed and patronized by Julio Rodríguez del Náutico de Vigo, will try to revalidate his 2020 victory... one of his major rivals will be the April Oils of the Perez Canal brothers... who have succeeded in beating the Count for the fifth time in July... and in August they did the same with the Maeloc Rías Baixas... achieving their seventh absolute victory.

No other of the powerful ships will participate... the Pairo-Marnatura... because José Luis Freire has his regular crew decimated, as he is competing in other races outside Spain

There will be, among the great ships, several crews with Portuguese accent: the Yess Racing, by Rui Ramada; the Xekmatt, by José Carlos Prista; the Yess Too, by Carlos Morgado; the Another Five, by Nuno Vasconcelos; or the Marías, by Manel Cunha. The Solventis of Alberto Moro, the Arroutado of José Manuel Pérez, the Mirfak of Diego López or the Corsario of Jorge Durán will be other of the ships of the largest length we will see fighting for the podium posts.

In the fleet of 75 ships of the competition will be represented much of the Galician nautical clubs. The Baiona, Vigo and Coruña are the ones that will have the most sailboats among the participants, but there will also be crews of Panxón (Maracaná), Commud (Sea of Frades), Castrelo de Miño (La Broula Negra), Rodeira (Balea Dous), Canido (Bosch Service Solutions), A Guarda (Nahela) or Portonovo (Petrilla)...

It is a price to highlight another of the great sailing boats of the Prince, the spectacular Dehler 47 Txole, which this year will be the ship destined by Mount Real Club of Yates to a group of students of its School of Sailing adapted for people with functional diversity who will go out to sail on the days of the trophy. They are members of ASEM Galicia, the Galician association against neuromuscular diseases, and are supported by the Social Policy Council of the Xunta of Galicia.
