Two thousand five hundred athletes of pyragüism, sailing, rowing and nautical skiing will compete this year in the Abanca Week from September 5 to November 28, with the Vigo headquarters (with three events), Marín, Sada and La Coruña (with two each) and Cortegada in the province of Ourense that will organize one. The sports program is completed by the Galas del Remo and the Piragüismo, which will be held in Sada and Vigo in November.

The macro-nautical event considered at the national level, as the most important multi-sport event in the country, was presented at the Viguese facilities of the ETEA, an event that has been held since 2000... earlier under the names of Caixanova and Novagalicia Banco and now that of Abanca.

On the part of the Organizing Committee of the Week were its top representatives, as president Francisco García de Bobadilla, its vice president Enrique Tosado, who is the president of the Náutico Club of Sada, and its general secretary, Manuel Pedro Seoane... by Abanca attended the coordinator of institutional relations of Vigo, Ourense and Pontevedra: José Manuel Nogueira Durán, who confirmed Abanca's commitment to an event that he considered essential for nautical sport at the national level.

As a representative of the numerous sponsors, Pablo Louro, executive of Gadisa, also addressed the attendees Alfredo Bea, president of the Galician Federation of Piragüismo, representing the four federations that were immersed in the Abanca Week.

Vigo will have three piragüism and sailing competitions, which bear the name of Trophy Concello de Vigo, being the International of Kayak de Mar, which inaugurates the 2021 edition with a great participation that will come close to the three hundred athletes who will compete from cadet to master in the ETEA Track on Sunday, 5, from 10 in the morning.

The other two are the Iberian Laser Championship and the traditional Vila de Bouzas de Cruises Trophy. The organizations in charge of the Vigo Maritime Club, the Olívico Piragüismo, the Canido Maritime Club and the Bouzas Maritime Liceo.

Marin will host the traditional rowing and the school ergometer rowing. The batel competition with the name of Copa Galicia Ence with the Concello de Marín Trophy in play will be held in front of Paseo Antonio Blanco, with the support of the legendary Samertolameu Sports Society and the Military Naval School.

As far as the school rowing is concerned, the competition will take place in the Pavilion of the San Narciso College, carrying the technical part of the prestigious Club de Remo Vila de Cangas.

Ourense will be present with the Iberian Nautical Skiing Cup, in an incomparable scenario: Cortegada in the heart of the Miño River, while Sada will have two events: the Divine Rei of Cruises and the Grand Prix Receptación da Coruña de RemoMar... both organized by the Nautical Club of Sada.

Finally, the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña will stage the Isabel Zendal Trophy for female crews that will sail in J80 and the children's sailing race that will close the Abanca Week: the Aurelio Fernández Lage Trophy... the City of La Coruña de Optimist.
