The docking and landing of the ships will take place in front of the bay of Sant Antoni... the discharge maneuvers will take several days due to the complexity of the operation

Tomorrow, the last two acquisitions of Trasmapi will arrive on the coast of Ibiza: the Fairweather and Chenega ships that, along with the recently acquired Condor ship in Vigo, are part of the important expansion that the Ibiza and Formentera shipping company is making and will result in the quality of the service it offers to Balear society.

For the founding and landing exercises of the vessels, Trasmapi has taken all appropriate measures to prevent environmental damage, including an on-site inspection of the designated area, located at 33m in depth, in front of the Bay of Sant Antoni, to ensure that the foning is carried out in a posidonia-free zone.

The ships were loaded at the port of Ketchikan in Alaska, on the Red Zed 1 freighter on July 4. This 216-metre-long heavy cargo ship has sailed through the Pacific Ocean to the Panama Canal, which it accessed the Atlantic Ocean on August 10. Until you reach Ibiza, you will have traveled a distance of approximately 19,000 km

The discharge maneuvers will be delayed several days due to the complexity of the operation. To do so, it will immerse its cover in the sea to release the ships that were stranded into a wooden cradle. Then, by tugboats, the two ferries will be taken to the port of Sant Antoni. Once the discharge is completed, the freighter will emerge.

The fast ferris, built by Derecktor Shipyards from Bridgeport between 2004 and 2005 for the Alaska Marine Highway, is 71,75m long, 18.6m long, 2,65m long. They can transport 250 passengers and 55 vehicles, reaching a speed of 32 knots.
