It looks like it was yesterday... but they've already passed the 19-year-old friera. In 2005 we organized a tribute, with the award of the gold medal of the Real Federación Española de Vela included that then approved Gerardo Pombo as a federal precot for two large of the cruise sail: Francisco Sitges shipowner of the Xargo and Manuel Fernández de Sousa Faro owner with his wife Charo Andrade de los Vento.

In the Barcelona Hall of that year the Spanish had certain reticence to recognize the enormous merits of the Asturian shipowner and the Galician... but after a three-band meeting (the third was the then Comodoro del Náutico de Vigo, Ramón Ojea)... the Santanderino president then of the Spanish... gave in to the pressures.

The weight of the topic was carried along with Jorge Santos, responsible for Caixanova in his week, as well as Toni Román and José Hernández Eraso, who had always been the trusted men of the maxis of the Asian shipowner.

For issues that do not come to the case the MRCY Baiona I doubt to attend a tribute that I did not want to organize... but in the end they attended the event Rafael Olmedo Limeses and Alfonso Paz Andrade: in which there were two guests of luxury, very important in the sports life of Don Francisco... as were Denis Conner who sailed not a few times in the Xargo IV, and German Frers the famous nautical architect who had designed it.

The authors of both coming to Vigo were Román and Hernández Eraso... and the sponsor of the Caixanova expenses... through the approval of Jorge Santos.

It was spectacular the walk that Mr. Copa América took in front of the astonishment of his own and strangers... a walk on which he was accompanied by Cholo Armado, Alberto Alvarez and Franco Cobas, then president of the Nautico.

In the afternoon Charo and Manolo staged a great tribute to the children of the Pescanova, of the WOR60 of Vuelta al Mundo that was capitalized by Javier de la Gandara... the event was attended by Conner and Frers, among other rutilating stars of the international candle... it was celebrated before a thousand people in Punta Lagoa... with a fitting worthy of the America's Cup... and I had the honour of er the presenter of the Gala... at the express invitation of Don Manuel Fernández.
