At 1630 hours in the afternoon, as planned, the Committee of the Regata made the start of the first edition of the event organized by the Maritime Liceo de Bouzas, with ten ships that took part in the three categories called: Cruise ORC, Solitaries and A2 (Photo Juan Caballero)

The Younkounkoun III, by Adolfo Castro, of the Portonovo Nautical Club, was led by the first act of the Costa da Vela NB21 Regata, which on Friday rose its curtain from the Ria de Vigo. The Pontevedrés sailing boat, which ran in the category of A Two, was the first also in real time, ahead of the Ay Carmela, of Juan Pazó, of the Liceo de Bouzas, which also entered in time, being second.

The third boat to score in the I Regata Costa da Vela NB21 was the Smaku, by Alfonso Rodríguez, from the Bouzas Maritime Liceo, in the Division of Solitaries. The other ships, up to a dozen, had to put the engine up to Portonovo.

The sea and wind conditions were good in the Viguese ría, with a component that marked its axis in 240, that is, the south-west, with 8 knots of average intensity, and that they would hold until they left the ria itself, to pass through scones and wind wells along the Costa de la Vela, which made the fleet regroup, shortening distances.

The Committee decided to go up to O Cabalo de Aldán the arrival, replaced by that which had been mounted in the vicinity of the Portonovo Nautical Club, a collaborating entity next to the Bouzas de la Regata Liceo.

The second event will take place on Saturday, August 28, with an inverse route to that of this first day, going down the ships from the Ria de Pontevedra to the Ría de Vigo, adding ships that move to the Club de Yates e Bayona, after having taken part in the Regata Hotel Galatea of the Club de Portonovo, this weekend.
