2021 / 08 / 17: The Nautical Week of Light Sailing of the Port in the absence of its decisive day

The bay of Cadiz forces to rise the pace and faces the one that will be a decisive day to solve some of the titles in play
Second day for light sailing on the 50th anniversary of the Nautical Week that organizes the Royal Nautical Club of the Port of Santa Maria... vistose, competitive and with a lot of wind... in a top race field... in the incomparable bay of Cadiz.
The young Maria Castillo ties the first place in the Optimist Sub 16 class, where the regatist of the CDN Punta Umbria adds two new so many and one second. The onubense "benefits" in addition to the bad luck of the CNM regatist Benalmádena, Roberto Aguilar, who has been forced to withdraw from the first test today. Although the Malagasy then fixed with two seconds, it is already nine points that keep him away from the title. The third place in this class goes to the hands of the young girl of the CDN Punta Umbria, Adriana Serra (3,6.3) who gets on the podium after getting rid of a pinch on the opening day.
Impressive will be the outcome in the Optimist Sub 13 class, in which CDN regatist Punta Umbria, Sergio Mancera, holds the lead thanks to his victory in today's third test, to which he came tied with Nicolás Flethes of the CN Puerto Sherry. In the two previous tests, Mancera played with a 24 to which he added a first, while Flethes showed his regularity with a second and a third that matched the markers.
Then another first from Mancera and a third from Flethes allowed the onubense to recover their breath and dream of a title that retains by two points. In their hand-to-hand they should be very outstanding tomorrow of Carlos Carrasco, of the CN Puerto Sherry, whom an off-line who has ended up being his discard has no longer been allowed to look the first and fourth place before. Among the smallest, category Sub 11, the former are still at the hands of the Portuguese Vicente Costa and the regatist of the CN Sevilla Elena Delgado.
In class 420, Susana Ridao and Elena Sofía Camacho remain in the head after a day in which things have not been as shot as in the premiere. The crew of the CN Puerto Sherry broke their unbeatable with a third and an off-line that they could rule out, then adding a new so much that it comes to add the room in two days and six tests.
The people of Puerto Sherry already taste the triumph with four points of rent on the crew of the organizing club of Josete Ruiz and Vicente Hernández, the best of the day with two wins and a third that has allowed them to climb two posts to the second, solving the tie with the crew of Claudia Pavón and Carmen Rodríguez of the CN Puerto Sherry, third. Exciting will also be to solve the final order of a podium in which everything seems possible.
More solvent is the new leader of the regatist of the CN Sevilla Enrique Muñoz in the class ILCA 4, where the sevillano takes advantage of the discard and a good day today (3,2.1) to rise seven positions and get to the final day, with eight points less than its immediate follower and club partner, Eduardo Orihuela.
Orihuela also rises a position and stands ahead of the first leader of the week, Santiago Grosso of the Club Polideportivo Cadiz, now third with three points more than the Sevillian, after a day in which an off-line has been his discard. At the podium doors at four points, the other partial winner of the day, the Sevillian Miguel Gómez, protagonist of another hasty exit, is placed.
Changes also in ILCA 7 where the new leader is Alfonso Moreno del CR Madrid. Moreno used his greatest experience, but he will have to keep up with the rhythm until the end, as he comes to the last day with only one point of difference with the young Miguel Muñoz del CN Sevilla. Between the two were distributed the so many today, with two for Moreno, and the second on the three tours. Next to them, the young sportsman Nacho Barroso of the CDN Punta Umbria, third with six and seven more points, also enters the fight in the face of tomorrow.
Tomorrow, after three new tests for all, the first winners of the 50th Nautical Week will be held on the terraces of the El Puerto de Santa María RCN.

Among the ILCA 4 is the team of the Club Polideportivo Cadiz, among which is dismarked Santiago Grosso, first after winning two tests and scoring a second on the other, results that leave him in very good position in the face of the second day, with eight and nine points less than his club partner Sol López and the regatist of the CN Sevilla Eduardo Orihuela, second and third separated by one point.
The highest equality also at the doors of this first podium, with Luis Castañeda and Marta Franco, also from the Gaditano club, tied in the fourth and fifth place, respectively. None of them was the protagonist of the other time of the day, which went to the hands of the regatist of the CN Sevilla, Enrique Muñoz, to whom one off-line in the third test places him eighth in wait for the discard that will arrive with the fourth test.
And equality is also the dominant note in class ILCA 6, with a first day that leaves three regatists in the lead in three points and each of them with a little in its marker. The first position is for Miguel Muñoz, of the CN Sevilla, 3rd, 1st and 2nd, followed with two and three more points by the regatist of the CDN Punta Umbria, Nacho Barroso (4.3.1) and the sportsman of the CR Madrid Alfonso Moreno who added a second and a sixth to his initial victory.
After three tests and with the first leaders already on top of the table, tomorrow Tuesday is the second day before the great end of Wednesday, on which you will also sail the skate class to Vela.
