This next Saturday seven will mark a new edition of one of the great classics of the Galician regats, the appointment with the twenty-first Trophy Hotel Carlos I Silgar, which as Regata Ruta de Las Islas is its thirty-third edition.
With a much smaller format than usual and after a year of absence due to the pandemic, the three parties involved, Hotel Carlos I Silgar, Concello and Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo, recover the appointment with a great deal of illusion and with the look set in 2022 to have its whole essence again, as it has always been.
The winners of the last edition, the one held in 2019, were in ORC 1-2, the Pairo 8, sailed by Luís Bugallo, the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, the ship armed by José Luís and Constante Freire, and Bonifacio Logares, who also won the Galician title of ORC; in ORC 3, the Raygrass III, of Ton Núñez, of Club Marítimo Carrumeiro; and in ORC 4, the first position of the podium was taken by the Travesio, of Vilatorio or Club of Vilatorio.
The Trophy Hotel Carlos I Silgar has the collaboration of the Xunta de Galicia, through the Xeral Secretariat for or Sport, the Receptación de Pontevedra, the Concello de Sanxenxo, the Royal Galician Federation of Vela and Nauta Sanxenxo.
