On Monday at the edge of the one in the afternoon will be the starting pistolet for the first manga of the thirty-ninth edition of the King's Cup. In line of departure 105 ships which make the Majorcan classic into the most important race of Spain within the heavy sail... and perhaps also that of Europe... will be six days of competition according to the following program:

The 39 Cup of King MAPHRE will be a special edition. After the 2020 parenthesis, the race returns with renewed encouragement and interesting new developments. 105 ships of 19 nationalities will compete in nine classes and three race fields during six days of competition. We review the main statistics and the different tools to follow.

Since its birth in 1982, the MAPHRE King's Cup has crowned 156 teams in 38 editions. Until 1987 (and exceptionally in 1998), the race erected a single champion, from 1988 to 1993 to two, and since then has varied the number of categories to the record of 13 reached in 2018.

This year he calls nine classes to compete for six days in Palma Bay. They will be a hundred teams from Argentina, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, England, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Peru, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Uruguay.

The 39 Cup of the King MAPHRE is organized by the Real Club Náutico de Palma and the Real Federación Española de Vela, with the sponsorship of MAPHRE and the institutional collaboration of the Govern de les Illes Balears, the City Council of Palma, the Harbour Authority of Balears and the Balear Federation of Vela.
