Gómez Mostly de Andres Soto of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña in IRC and Antilope--Lener patrolled by Jose Luis Alonso of the Club Bahia de Gijón in IRC Plus One +; they proclaimed themselves winners of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Xacobeo 21.22, who have organized the Real Club Marítimo del Abra - Real Sporting Club vizcayno and the Real Club Nautico de La Coruña.
This event is the first of this season of the Circuito Mar de Maeloc, of the four of which it consists... is still to celebrate the Rías Altas Regata, the Regata Finisterre (La Coruña-Vigo) and the Regata Rias Baixas... in total 600 miles in which more than a hundred ships with a thousand crew members on board.
The last 60 miles of the Sea of Maeloc Xacobeo 21.22, the longest race in Spain in the current season, were very hard, as we said yesterday the wind as the fleet passed from the Vertical of Burela in a west direction, heading for Estaca de Bares... was increscendo.
In the promotory of northern Galicia, only to look up the nose to see Ortegal... the wind rose to 20 knots after passing the legendary Cape... it reached to 35... and in addition to bow. This caused constant changes in the regatta head, between Mylla, Gómez and Antilope... with an Impredigital that suffered a lot with these winds and was unable to reach the first squares.

At that time, two retreats were produced, one in Viveiro (the Aizen of Gustavo Arce of the Maritime of Santander) and another in Begonia-Maitea (based in Getxo) in Ribadeo... before the one who had chosen to connect his engine was the Picarro vizcino.
At the edge of five and a half in the morning, the head entered the Coruñese ria... but the wind was coming down, so it was a great suffering to reach the arrival at the feet of the Barrié de la Maza, when it was seven and twenty in the morning.
In real time the winner was Gomez Mostly with a 2-day 7-hour 7-hour 7-minute and 7-second chrono, which was worth winning its category, the IRC. After him the Antilope-Lener that was imposed the RC Plus One + tap. After the Gomez in their lot they composed the Andarax Bi podium of Josu Portularrume de Zumaia and Uso Manuela de Gonzalo Miguvarri del Marítimo del Abra de Getxo.
Among the Plus One +, silver and bronze were for two ships of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander: Impredigital of Emigdio Bedia and the Mylla of Javier Sánchez. They also completed the Krill (San Sebastián) and the Marmotinha (Getxo) race.
Last thing yesterday was held at the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña, the award-giving, and the closing of the Maeloc Xacobeo Sea 21.22.

The head of the fleet participating in the Regata Mar de Maeloc Xacobeo 21.22, which organized the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club de Vizcaya and the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña, was located at the end of the afternoon of Friday, at the height of the great fishing port of Burela, sailing with a wind from the south-west that was already beginning to rise in intensity as the fleet approached the legendary Cape of the Bares.
The Mylla patroniado by Javier Sánchez of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander, an XP38, sailed with a speed close to seven knots, and had more than two miles from his stern, the former leader... to the Prime 38 of Andrés Soto of the fleet of the Real Nautical Club of La Coruña, and very close to this one to Gran Soleil 38 asturian... the Antilope of the Bay Club of Gijón, which patrons José Luis Alonso.

On the other hand, one of the great favorites, the J99 Impredigital of Emigdio Bedía, who has recently won the Golden Whale of the Costa Vasca Regata, was apparently far from the fleet, very north... but because he had been sailing more than six knots, with points of eight for moments... he had approached the head group, of which he was theoretically already about 6 miles away.
The one who was a little unhung from the dominant platoon was Gustavo Arce, with his Aizen... But attention to this Sun Fast 32 that has an excellent rating and given that it was starting to catch fresh wind from the northwest of 15 knots, which according to the parts will go up to 25 or even 30 by passing through the Bars stake... everything can happen, because Arce does not usually throw the towel, and in the downhill to La Coruña, it can reverse what is happening.
If everything is done as planned, we will have in Marina Real in the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña to the fleet in the early hours of the morning... and the slowest will do it even after noon... in any case the closure is planned at the site of the Herculin nautical by 10: 00.

The fleet participating in the longest height race of the Peninsula, the Regata Mar de Maeloc Xacobeo 21.22 that organize the Basque reference club, the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club and the Galician of the northern area, the Real Club Nautico de La Coruña; it was on the verge of sunset about 30 miles from Gijón with a considerable delay on the schedule... even though the average fleet speed had increased from 3 knots on the day of Wednesday to 4.5 on Thursday.
The head of the race, in real time, was located on the vertical of Llanes, with the Gómez Mostly of Andres Soto, 170 miles from the arrival in the bay of La Coruña, followed very closely (less than half a mile) by the precious ship of the Bay of Gijón, the Antilope-Lener with José Luis Alonso in the cane, and a little further back a mile from the leader closed the vanguard triumvirate, the Mylla of Javier Sánchez of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander.

At that time the north-west wind of just over five knots of speed, which caused the participants' speeds to be between 4 and 6 knots. The slowest was Gómez Mostly with 4 nailed, and the fastest was in the north of the fleet the use of Gonzalo-varri of the Abra Maritime, which reached 5.5 knots of speed.
It should be noted that the boat with more women on board the race is the Vizcadno Uso Vela by Gonzalo Chavarri, which is flag in the Abra Maritime: specifically the co-patron Carmen Galdós and the crew member Pilar Morcilla. Begoña Landaluce is the third to sail in the Begonia Maitea. On the other hand, an illustrious one is in the race: Alvaro Basterra, who was captain of the Fortuna in the Regata Vuelta al Mundo... is the patron of the Chicharro and amen of regatar is the most responsible for the rescue of this Sea of Maeloc Xacobeo 21-22

Following the positions of the fleet two of the favorites: the Santanderinos Aizen of Gustavo Arce and the Impredidal (which has won this year almost everything, the Basque Coast included) of Emigdio Berdia were a little behind... about two miles to the ground. However, they are replaceable distances, as there are still many miles to the Galician capital, where the fleet must arrive on Saturday... unless the weather conditions, which allow it, vary dramatically.

The Sigma 38 Gómez Mostly of the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña with Andrés Soto a la cane and Jaime Miranda as tactic, along with the J99 Impredigital of Emigdio Berdia of the Real Club Marítimo de Santander and the Gran Soleil 37B of the Club Bahia de Gijón with José Luis Alonso to the cane, form the head group of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Xacobeo 21.22, at the height of Laredo when they take about three hours of navigation and have gone just over 15 miles.
The exit took place in the outside Abra in the peach waters of Getxo with strict punctuality at the edge of the four o'clock, with a north-west wind of 9 knots. The only complication at the exit, was in charge of the Dufour 334 of Iosu Portularume de Zumaia, who entered into wedge, very attached to the ship of the Jury... and who was about to approach the Impredigital.
The maneuver of the donostiarra had no apparent explanation, for with about 250 miles ahead, it was not logical to play a disqualification... the good Basque pattern, after the commitment generated, chose to self-penalize, in a logical maneuver and that was the most outstanding note of the beginning of this race, which has regained the connection between the Basque Costas Regata and the Rías Altas Regata... from there after the Finisterre with the Rías Baixas Regata by the Real Club Náutico de Vigo.
When writing this emergency chronicle, the fleet was sailing in a large group... but in turn fragmented. Gómez Mostly de La Coruña marched in the middle of the fleet, having to the north a group of three ships formed by the Useo Manuela de Chavarri del Marítimo del Abra, Mylla de Javier Sánchez de Santander and the Asterian Antilope of José Luis Alonso.
More to the land, that is to the south of the Coruñeses were Aizen de Gustavo Arce del Marítimo de Santander, very attached to him Andarax de Zumaia and the Krill of the Royal Nautical Club of San Sebastián. Closing this group the Ricardo Pasch Chicharro of the Royal Abra de Getxo Maritime Club.
The Organization is expected to end the deadline at 22: 00 on Saturday, to celebrate the closure at the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña on Sunday at 12: 00. For the moment the forecast for the next few hours is that the fleet reaches the vertical of Gijón from noon on Thursday.

It runs in the Abra de Vizcaya at four o'clock on Wednesday, the Regata Mar de Maeloc Xacobeo 21-22, with 15 ships of competition from the communities of Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country... organized by the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña and the Real Club Maritimo del Abra - Real Sporting Club of Getxo, club that hosted the official presentation of Mar de Maeloc, in what to Basque lands refers to... and that opens the Circuito de Mar de Maeloc, with the second time of La Regata, with the second time of La Corucia, with the end of La Regata, with the Ríxas, in the second time, with the end of La Rega.
In the event of the Maritimo del Abra, Tomás Alonso Allende comandoro of the prestigious Basque club, Eduardo García Santamarina, and Manuel Pedro Seoane were present as general secretary of Mar de Maeloc, and in representation of the Náutico de La Coruña.
The three agreed on the imperative need to recelebrate a connection race, between the Basque and Galician races, to energize the activity. Seoane recalled that the Nautico de Vigo was born in 1906, after having won a Viguese ship the Copa de la Gitana in that far year, in which they sailed two non-club vines then: Quiñones de León and José de Elduayen son... who returned to the olive city with the idea of supporting the creation of a club... that would be the Nautico.

He also noted that the snipes entered Spain by Vigo, but that both the Nautico de La Coruña, and the Sporting bibaíno, were essential in its spread in Spain... and finally the races of the 90 with several Galician ports such as the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona, the Nautico de Vigo itself, the Portosín and the Herculino. This is why the satisfaction for the realization of this Xacobeo Regata, is total by all involved...
For the Cantabrian fleet will be the 'Aizen' of Gustavo Arce, in 'Mylla' of Javier Sánchez and the 'Impredigital' of Emigdio Bedia, of the Real Maritimo Club of Santander; for the Galician the 'Gomez Mostly Hamless', the beautiful Sigma 38 of the Nautico of La Coruña; for the asturian the 'Antilopia-Lener' of José Luis Alonso; and for the Basque 'Alpega' of Alfonso Churruca, the 'Uso Manuela' of Gonzalo, the 'of the' Porte 'of the' Antonio 'of the Royal' of the 'Carrio of the' of the 'Carrio of the' of the 'of the' Carrio of the 'of the' Antonio of the 'of the'
The departure at four o'clock in the afternoon in front of the Abra Maritime facility in Getxo... ahead 250 miles... the time limit is set for 10 o'clock Saturday night, even if the participating fleet most likely begins to reach La Coruña, already on Friday... being the exit line mounted between the Barrié de la Maza and the Guisanda beacon.
A priori the great favorites, two santaderino ships: the Aizen with Gustavo Arce to the cane and above all the Impredigital of Emigdio Berdía, both of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander... the latter with the vile of winner of the Regata Costa Vasca 2021.
In front of them, by the asturian side the Antilope- Lener of José Luis Alonso of the Club Bahia de Gijón, by the Galician side the "Gómez Mostly" of the Coruñés Andrés Soto and by the Basque are several that have many possibilities.
All participating ships have satellite locators, so they will be located at all times. On the portal www.mardemaeloc.com You can follow the competition live. The starting horn at four in the afternoon.
2021 / 07 / 20: After two decades... The Sea of Maeloc links Vizcaya to La Coruña with the Xacobeo 21.22

Widespread satisfaction for the blessing of Xunta and Municipalities to the recovery of the nautical union of Vizcaya and La Coruña, by the RCMAC-RSC, RCNC and RCNV (Photo María Devesa)
The Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club of Getxo and the Monte Real Club of Yates of Baiona, with the support of the Maritime of Santander and the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, tried to do so in the 1990s, but it was only organized three times: the aim was to join the main northern races with a great connection.
But the will of all the nautical was on the wave that it crystallized the idea, it was more than clear... so after almost two decades of not organizing, the project has fit into Mar de Maeloc and it is already a reality, as next day 21 at the edge of the four of the afternoon will start from the Abra de Vizcaya to the river of La Coruña 15 good race cruises, belonging to the communities of Euskadi, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia, as well as from Portugal, in which will be the longest race of Spain, in the 250 miles of this season.
The release in the rooms of the Náutico de La Coruña, in which the Herculino club was represented by its president Fernando Cobian... its homonymous Vigués José Antonio Portela... being the general secretary of Mar de Maeloc, Manolo Seoane, on behalf of the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club, which on Tuesday will host the official presentation in Las Arenas, and which completes the triplet of nautical clubs that organize this macro event.

Also attended were the delegate of the Galicia Government in La Coruña Gonzalo Trenor, the Conselleira of Coruñese sports: Mónica Martínez, president of the Galician de Vela Manuel Villaverde, as well as Ana Rosado de Custom Drinks, brand manager of Maeloc, of the Corporación Hijos de Rivera and the lieutenant mayor of Laxe.
In the first act of Mar de Maeloc, more than a hundred regatists, and above all an illusion: that the Regata Getxo - La Coruña that bears the name this year of Trofeo Xacobeo 21-22, is something traditional all the seasons, and one to the two great ones of Galicia: the Regata Rías Altas that organizes the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña and the Rias Baixas, whose baton carries the Royal Club Náutico de Vigo... and between the legendary Trofeo Finise and the most important of the Spanish, one of the most important and the most important citations of the Spanish.
The main fleets of the Cantábrico, as well as the French and British fleets, come to the Galician coast, to enjoy high-level competitions with the seal of quality and what it means to navigate pleasantly in the summer period for all the incomparable Rías de Galicia: be it Alta or Baixas.

The trophies of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Xacobeo 21-22, plus a great avant-garde design based on a sailing boat... will have a base of recovery wood and its top of recycled aluminium... which has also been done with the trophies of the other three quotes: Rías Altas, Finisterre and Rías Baixas. Even in these pieces we have used recycled wood of pallets from the Maeloc wineries.
The T-shirts of the regatists have the Community name "Eco," having their base of organic cotton and the screen is from the so-called "water." With regard to Ecoembes, its collaboration with Mar de Maeloc is already confirmed, and it will install clean points in all the host ports.
In the global computation of Mar de Maeloc, under the flag of respect for the marine environment... more than a hundred ships will have participated, with a thousand regatists on board the entire Peninsula. So far the most daring will have slightly exceeded 600 miles, as the unforgettable Don Camilo José Cela... from Bidasoa to Miño... would say by the Sea of Maeloc.
