Spain wins the 420 World Cup Medal in Sanremo

6 medals achieved the Rojita of 420 in Italian waters
The Spanish team of 420 has proved to be at a very high level in the World Championship of this class, played throughout this week in Sanremo, Italy. Up to 13 Spanish teams have completed the competition in the Top 10 of the four categories with their own classification and six of them have been made with a medal. Thanks to these results, Spain has been recognized as the best nation in the championship.
Among the medals obtained is the gold of the baleares María Perelló and Marta Cardona (CN Arenal) in category Sub 17 female, also being second in their fleet, in which they sailed equally boys and girls.
The victory of Perelló and Cardona is added to three plates and two bronzes. In category Sub 17 the male silver has been for Marc Mesquida and Ramón Jaume (CNA), and the female silver for María Pascual and Marta Puigserver (CM San Antonio de la Playa). In the absolute female classification, the Mallorcan crew formed by Neus Ballester (CN Sa Rápita) and Andrea Perelló (CNA) has been subchampion.
The Spanish team's bronzes were obtained by Alberto Morales and Miguel Bethencourt (CN Arrecife) in 420 male / mixed, and Jaime Ayarza and Mariano Hernández (RCN Gran Canaria) in Sub 17 male.
In addition to these podiums, seven other Spanish crews are in the Top 10 of the final ranking of the 420 World Championship. In Sub 17 female, Nora García and Mariona Ventura have been fourth. In the absolute category of women, Paula and Isabel Laiseca have been fifths and their companions Alejandra Pérez and Ana Bautista, seven. In Sub 17 male, Miguel Ángel Morales and Alejandro Martín have finished in seventh position. In the male and mixed category, Fernando and Carlos Flethes have been quarters; Ian Walker and Finn Dicke sepmos, and Pablo Ruiz and Javier Mestre, octavos.
