The race, part of the class's national circuit, will meet in the Bay
to some of the first swords of the Snipe Class

The Snipe Cadiz Fleet celebrates its Second Anniversary Trophy this weekend, following last year's success in which, despite the pandemic, they managed to gather a total of 30 ships to celebrate their twentieth anniversary.

For this year an extra effort has been made to increase participation, exceeding 50 registered from all over Spain.

The race, which repeats as a punctual test for the National Circuit of the Class and will serve as training for the imminent Spanish Championship in the Canary Islands, is organized by the Snipe Cadiz Fleet in collaboration with the Royal Nautical Club of Cadiz and the Andalusian Federation of Vela, as it is also the Cup of Andalusia.

The triumph is very controversial. Among the visiting candidates, Martín Bermudez and Angela Pumariega (Olympic gold in London 2012), Jordi Triay (World Master Champion 2018) or Angel
Ballesteros (Spanish Master's Champion 2020) or the local Juan Castañeda, David Blanco.

In the words of Alfonso Diaz- Canel, president of the Fleet, The main objective we set when we decided to create this race last year was clear; to set a fixed quote in the Bay of Cadiz within the annual calendar of the Snipe Class. Having increased the inscriptions by more than 50%, we can only be satisfied and with the feeling that the test has settled in only two editions.

The Second Anniversary Trophy is organized by the Snipe Cadiz Fleet in collaboration with the Royal Nautical Club of Cadiz and the Andalusian Vela Federation. It has the support of the Nautical Campus of the Vicerrectorate of Culture of the Uca, the Spanish Navy, Estrella de Galicia, Cabreiroá, SSG Sanitary Services and with the special sponsorship of Hispania Inmobiliaria, which will deliver another year the Trophy Emilio Rodríguez de Trujillo, as well as of Seafood Ortiz, Babblá Comunicación and Fino Quinta.
