Today, Episode 3 of the Pro Sailing Tour was completed in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. For four days, the fleet of ocean trimarans Ocean Fifty has been able to check the island's excellent arguments to host first-level international races, with conditions that made it possible to set a new record and compete in front of the public at the natural stadium of Las Canteras beach. The final victory was the Leyton of Sam Goodchild, in which the Olympic champion Luis Dorest sailed as a guest.

The last day of the race began with a 20-mile coastal tour that led the fleet to sail from San Cristóbal, pass the Ocean Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) and surround La Isleta towards the beach of Las Canteras. He was followed by two sleeves in front of the Barra of the popular canary Arenal and a final route back to San Cristóbal which was about to make a dramatic turn to the final classification. For the second consecutive day, the Ocean Five show could be seen from the liturgy of the Canary capital.

Arkema 4 was the best of the day. The ship patrolled by Quentin Vlamynck won three of the four contested sleeves and seriously jeopardized the Leyton leadership, who went out in the water with a good mattress of points but saw how they were being consumed as they joined partial. Sam Goodchild's ship signed an irregular day (2nd / 4th / 1st / 6th) but in the end it was sufficient to raise its third consecutive title after those achieved in Brest and La Rochelle. He was accompanied on the podium of Gran Canaria by Arkema 4 (which remained two points from the champion) and the Ciela Village of Erwan Le Roux. The final award was held at FIMAR, the International Sea Fair that shared space this weekend with the Pro Sailing Tour at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Sports Pier.

The Pro Sailing Tour 2021 will be decided in the race that will join the French towns of Tolón and Brest. An ocean tour of 1650 nautical miles between the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts of France. Sam Goodchild's Leyton leads the provisional after three events, three 24-hour challenges and 22 disputed coastal tests.
