The harsh wind conditions have prevented the development of the first three races provided for in this national meeting. The regatta committee came to have measurements where the 28 knots were reached in the bay of Las Palmas, which together with strong waves, forced the regatta officer of this competition Javier Pérez- Lafuente, to extend deferral by moving the fleet to the ground.

At 16: 00, new measurements were carried out and in the face of the persistence of the wind, the final decision was made to suspend the day as the forecast of hard wind was to continue until the sunset.

During this day some participants have suffered breaks on the way to the site of the competition, so this deferral on the ground has served many participants to replace and adjust equipment, for these difficult conditions. Tomorrow Saturday, three new tests will be tried if the wind allows.

2021-07-21 Snipe National Youth Title for Beneyto- Iess... and beginning of the Absolute in Las Palmas

The award was awarded with the participation of the national secretary of the class Snipe Fernando Celerán, Rafael Bonilla president of the Federation Canaria de Vela, the Commodore of the RCNGC Fernando Juárez and vice comandoro Micky Hernández

The nautical grancanary not only adds a new national triumph to its palmaris, but also gets the full podium of this national quote, by classifying itself in the first three positions of the general crews of its regatta team. Samuel Beneyto and Margarita Iess were sailing together for the first time, as the two are regular regalists of the ILCA class.

But they achieved in record time the necessary compenetration on the double ships, which together with an enviable setting up of the ship, assured them a speed plus in all the steps, allowing them to win all contested races.

For the configuration of the rest of the podium, however, it was necessary to wait until the last minute, as it was on the ground where the official protest committee had work, with an incident in the seventh test. The regalatists Francisco Silvela / Mauro Şlez- Regueral (RC Astur de Regatas-RCN La Coruña) arrived second on the provisional of this last day, the result of a regular work, with a slight advantage over the two grancan crews with which they have been fighting during this championship: Ian Hopkins / Carlota Hopkins and Ruben Naranjo / Rafael del Castillo.

But a right of passage not fulfilled by Silvela and Glez- Regueral in the first stern of the penultimate race, cost him a disqualification and as there are times that things that go wrong, can go even worse, a break in the boat at the height of the obese in the last test, forced them to withdraw without the possibility to rule out the latter unintended.

In this way the Hopkins brothers jumped from the third to second place on the provisional podium, tying to points with their club mates Rubén Naranjo / Rafa del Castillo. Triumph for the organizing club by placing three of its representatives on the podium.

The Vascos Manolo Rey-Baltar / Borja Reig embroidered on this last day their participation, holding a second and third position as partial, allowing them to climb one more position, placing themselves in the fourth position of the absolute general. Francisco Silvela / Mauro Şlez-Regueral (RC Astur de Regatas-RCN La Coruña) had to finally settle for the fifth square, after a fight championship.

The Absolute Championship of this class, also organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Gran Canaria, where registration finally has 75 boats waiting for them to spend the day of compulsory measurement of the snipes.

2021 / 07 / 20: Beneyto-Iess near the title in the absence of the last day of the National Youth of Snipe

The leaders continue to win in their sleeves... which makes them virtual champions in the absence of the last day in canarian waters

Beneyto- Iess of the Royal Nautical Club of Gran Canaria add up to three new first and although the rest of the participants are in the fight, it seems that the tickets will be played only for the two remaining podium posts.

They still don't give a truce and seem to play in another league, Beneyto / Iess (1 ° -1 ° -1 ° - (1)) have this championship practically in their pocket, with six first flyers, winning all the races. So, the game on this day has been in the rest of the table positions, with several changes in the provisional classification. The brothers Ian and Carlota Hopkins (RCNGC) with the partials (2º-2º-4º-5º-7º- (13th)) punctured in the last test and went down to the fourth position of the provisional, to a single point of their teammates Rubén Naranjo / Rafa del Castillo, with a powerful beginning (3º- (8th) -3° 2º-5° -6º) that has allowed them to rise to the provisional podium. The crew Silvela / Mauro Glez.-Regueral give the jump to the second place, thanks to a regular work ((6 °) -4 ° -2 ° -4 ° -2 ° -2 °).

The representatives of the Royal Club Marítimo de Abra, Manolo Rey-Baltar / Borja Reig go down to the fifth position, after a discreet start, although they pressed in the last test (4 ° -3 ° -5 ° -7 ° - (8 °) -3 °). His club mates, Peru Abasola / Martin Bueno, instead improve over yesterday and are sexted on the table. Eduardo Ojeda / Víctor Medina today make their worst result in the last manga that discards and descend to the seventh place of the provisional general. The Andalusian Martyn- Lagos / Giménez enter the top ten following the grancanaries. By closing this group Medina / Dorrey of the Naval Commission of Regats of the Canary Islands.

2021 / 07 / 19: Samuel Beneyto-Margarita Iess first leaders of the National Youth of Snipe in Las Palmas

The crew of the Royal Nautical Club of Gran Canaria formed by Samuel Beneyto and Margarita Iess, have not given truce to the rest of the fleet, winning with superiority the three trials disputed today

The day was not easy because the wind conditions were growing as the forces were slipping. To finish the day with 15 knots on a boat as demanding as the Snipe, you can end the abs and back even of the athletes who are more fit. The Beneyto / Iess grancanaries, usually from the ILCA class circuit but with previous experience in this class, have spoken loud and clear on this first day. Many of his companions on the ground agreed on the superiority they have shown today in the field of races, tactitically and especially in speed with any direction.

More intense has been the struggle in the following positions where the brothers Ian and Carlota Hopkins (RCNGC) have established a comfortable advantage (2º -2º -4) with respect to the rest of the table where they have had to fight some more positions like Club Rubén Naranjo / Rafael Del Castillo (3º -8º -3º), quintos in the provisional when they pinch in the second race for a problem of manoeuvre, and with the asturiano-Galician Francisco Silvela / Mauro-Françlez-Regueral (6º -4º -2º) and the Reiatos (4º-3º-3º) and the Reiatos (4º-3º-3º-Reiatos-3º), respectively.

From the sixth place of the provisional, the difference in points is shortened with three crews of the Canarian autonomy, Ojeda / Medina (RCNGC) in sixth position, Medina / Dorrey (Naval Commission of Regates) in seventh Cantero / Cantero (RCNGC) in ninth. The crew representative of the Royal Club Marítimo of Abra Abasola / Bueno ends this first day in eighth position and closing the most outstanding positions the Gallegos Tabara / Ribao.

Tomorrow three new races where the wind forecast is located with the same conditions today, ensuring show in the bay of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
