The Club Marítimo Varadero de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria hosted the official presentation of the third episode of the Pro Sailing Tour, which will be held in the waters of the archipelago until next Sunday, July 4.
The Pro Sailing Tour fleet is reinforced for this third episode with the Arch co-patrolling by Armel Tripon and Benoît Marie. For the first time since the creation of the class, the seven Ocean Five that exist in the world will compete, a milestone that demonstrates the unity between the class members and the strength of this new circuit.
The Arch will share the exit line with the Ciela Village of Erwan Le Roux, the Arkema 4 of Quentin Vlamynck, the Primary of Sébastien Rogues, the Solidaires in Peloton - Arsep of Thibaut Vauchel- Camus, the Groupe GCA - 1001 Sourires of Gilles Lamiré and the Leyton of Sam Goodchild, the current leader of the provisional after imposing itself on the two races in Brest and La Rochelle.
The competition will begin on July 1 with the 24 Hours Challenge, a tour of more than 300 nautical miles that will test the ocean capacity of the trimarans in the conditions of alisian winds that prevail on the islands. The departure will take place at 11: 00 in the morning in front of San Cristóbal, south of Marina Las Palmas, from where the fleet will begin to surround Gran Canaria in a counterpoint.
After completing this first stretch, they will be heading north on a long 90-mile stretch parallel to the west coast of Fuerteventura to surround the island in a time-bound direction back to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
