The Mallorcan Xavier García Ollé, European champion of Optimist

The Spanish Xavier García Olle and the Greek Kleopatra Anastassiou are proclaimed European champions of Optimist 2021 in the waters of the Gaditana Bay, where today a round championship is closed at sea and also on land. The one of the farewell has been another day touched by the wind, with South of 15 knots of medium intensity, maintained along the two final tests. In total, it has been necessary to have half a hundred honks to complete a ten-fold test for all groups and to solve the championship as planned.

Impressive has been the outcome among the girls, where the Greek Kleopatra Anastassiou has won the title in the tenth and final test. After putting third in the penultimate with a third, eighth in the next and the lack of constancy of its rivals, they allow the Greek to put its signature to the title with three points of rent on the Turkish Medina Tatlican, which in one point exceeds the Italian Sofia Bommartini, third, followed by the Turkish Firvels Yegin, no doubt the one that loses the most on this last day. The top10 also includes the Carlota Rodríguez and the Andalusian Adriana Serra in the 8th and 10th positions, respectively.

For the Spanish Xavier García Olle this was a day of processing but has not missed the opportunity to draw up a triumph that he has had in his hands since the first trial. The regatist of the RCN of Palma wins a test in the farewell and with a 4th in the other, is crowned with a thirty points of advantage over the Italian Niccolo Pulito, who has played his cards well to sign the subchampionship. The podium is completed by the Greek Alexandros Kyfidis, a regatist who takes advantage of the tension between those who were supposed to be in front of him to make a definitive cut and to hang the bronze. He is followed by two more points by the Valencian Carlos Espí, only Spanish in the top10.

After the race at night, the delivery of medals and trophies took place during the closing ceremony that took place on the sports track of the Specialized Centre for Sports Tecnification of Vela Bahia de Cadiz, headquarters of the Andalusian Federation of Vela in El Puerto de Santa María. The event was chaired by Santiago Villagrán, president of the RCN of El Puerto de Santa María, accompanied among other authorities by the mayor of El Puerto de Santa María, Germán Beardo.

The Spanish Xavier García Olle and the Turkish Firdevs Yegin arrive at the final day of the European Championship of Optimist that ends tomorrow in the waters of the bay of Cadiz. Today's was another evening marked by the rising wind that has blown at an average intensity of 20 knots, which has required maximum attention from young patterns.

The strong current continues to demand the maximum of the regatists, forced to manage this factor as a determinant in the search for the objective. In this way they are produced apotheosic and also quite the opposite although today unlike previous days, there was no board especially favored in the area of races.

García Ollé pulls the rents to allow a puncture on the first test, in which also his immediate rivals in liza failed to accompany him on the final podium. The shooting is rid of a 20th and with a 7th in the other test, it recovers its hegemony to defend tomorrow the first place with almost twenty points of advantage. More today they put in play their rivals, the Italian Niccolo Pulito and the Turkish Yigit Ozbasoglu, in an intense hand-to-hand that after punching both in the first test, was decided in the second with an 8th of Pulito in front of a 40th of the Turkish that forced him to change the locker discards. With the subchampionship already more than ten points, the aim of the Turkish is now to maintain the third place, as they follow one, two and three points by this order, the Valencian Carlos Espi, the Croatian Tristan Tol and also the Spanish of the shooting Juan Bennassar.

I return to the classification of girls, where the leader until today, Emilia Salvatore, goes down from the first to the fifth place after her worst day. The rise of the wind did not go well with the Italian one, nor did the pressure exerted by some rivals willing to give everything to the end. In this case everything will be decided to a final letter as the new leader, the Turkish Firdevs Yegin, is by only three and four points about her compatriot Medina Havva Tatlican and the Italian Sofia Bommartini, second and third, respectively. Yegin, who began by scoring a first, then added a twenty-third, which, despite dismissing, forces him to continue working tomorrow, and is that the lack of regularity among the applicants makes the quineas very complicated in the face of the outcome. Today he highlighted the Greek Kleopatra Anastassiou with a second and a third that place it fourth to seven points, with six less than Salvatore. The first Spanish is the Valencian Blanca Ferrando, 10th, followed by the Andalusian Adriana Serra.

Tomorrow the last two tests will be held after which the European champions of Optimist 2021 will be confirmed. They and their companions on the male and female podiums, as well as the first of the silver and bronze groups, will receive the medals and trophies at the closing ceremony that will take place at 21: 00 hours on the sports track of the Specialized Center of Sports Technification of Sela Bahia de Cadiz, headquarters of the Andalusian Federation of Sela in El Puerto de Santa María.

The Spanish Xavier Garcia and the Italian Emilia Salvatore continue to lead the European Championships of Optimist after the third day lived very intensively in the waters of the Gaditana Bay. While Garcia already enjoys a considerable advantage, the Italian woman is obliged to continue working hard in front of some rivals who are not making it easy. The rising wind appeared and did so with strength to further strain the environment between a fleet very much fought for its own.

Among the boys, the Spanish Xavier Garcia breaks his imbatibility but the discard of a third and a second in the other test today, allow the shooting to follow his way to the target with eight points of return. The tension is lived from behind, where the equality between the Turkish Yigit Ozbasoglu and the Italian Niccolo Pulito today breaks on the side of the first, with a 1st and a 7th against a 2nd and a 7th in its Italian fleet.

With three points between the two, to two podium is now the Croatian Tristan Tol that discards the 31st that he dragged and adds a 6th and a 2nd to increase more than ten posts to the fourth. Something similar happens with the Cypriot Emilios Max Boeros who takes advantage of the discard and a victory today to put himself to the podium with three more points, while the Spanish of the balear, Juan Bennassar, remains sixth but keeps the options with one point more than the visitor. He is followed by the Spanish Carlos Spi, of the Valencian, who gets rid of an off-line to be more competitive in the final line.

The Italian Emilia Salvatore continues to lead the girls, but reduces her advantage, after a day in which she lost the lead in favor of the title defender, her compatriot Rebecca Geiger. In that test, an 8th of Salvatore in front of a 4th of Geiger and a well-employed discard allowed it to stand in front, as it later lost with a 20th that replaced it fifth.

In the meantime, Salvatore, with a second, recovered the first place, but lost the margin of error with only three points of advantage over the Turkish Firdevs Yegin, who has been very well on the rise of the wind and adds two so many in its fleet. The third post is still in the hands of the Italian Sofia Bonmartini with seven more points, followed by four and five of the Turkish Medina Havva Tatlican and the Italian Geiger. For its part, the Andalusian Adriana Serra, of the CDN Punta Umbria, recovers the national leadership and stands sixth after a day in which she became third after winning the first test in her fleet.

The other Spaniards who enter the gold group (52 boys and 58 girls) are the canary Fernando Benítez de la Cruz (10th), the Catalan Izan Codinachs (13th), the Andalusian José Manuel Pachón of the CNM Benalmádena (24th) and the canary Miguel Padrón (27th) between the boys, and the Valencian Blanca Ferrando (13th), the baleares Alexandra Lencina (16th), Susana Bestard (17th) and Carlota Rodríguez (22nd), the canary (25th) in the Nolina (25th), and the Nolada (25th).

2021 / 06 / 23: García Ollé and Emilia Salvatore continue to command in the European Optimist

Two new tests are planned tomorrow and the fifth can already rule out a result. This day will be decisive as it will be the last of qualifying for the cut of groups gold, silver and bronze the boys, and gold and silver the girls

The Spanish Xavier García and the Italian Emilia Salvatore tie up the leaders of the Optimist European Championship in the Gaditana Bay a little more after a very profitable day for both. The day has been resolved with the two planned tests, of a duration of 50 'minutes approximately each one, sailed under winds below the ten knots of intensity. The Thursday morning will be a decisive day in the face of the arrival of the first discard and the cut of the fleet for the semifinals and final.

No option has given the Xavier García ballast with two first that put it in very good position for the target. The Spanish remains imbued and rents already more than ten points to his immediate follower, the Italian Niccolo Pulito, to whom an 8th and a 2nd in his fleet are worth to rise four posts to the second, from which the Turkish Yigit Ozbasoglu is lowered, now third after a day in which he is reduced his performance with a 14th and a 20th. The Italian Enrico Coslovich and the Spanish Izan Codinachs of the Catalan and Juan Bennasar of the Balear align to five points of podium. Among the hosts today Josete Ruiz of the organizing club, with a 10th score in his group in the fourth championship.

For its part, the Italian Emilia Salvatore extends its advantage to seven points, showing again its regularity, in a day in which it adds up to a 3rd and a 4th and remains alien to the fight between its rivals. Among these today is the American Madeline Jansen, who with two-second in her group goes up to the second square, solving the tie with the Italian Sofia Bommartini, now third with a 6th and a 4th today.

She greatly improves the title defender, the Italian Rebecca Geiger, who gets fourth to seven points from the previous ones after signing in her own fleet a 3rd and a 1st. It closes the top5 the Turkish Firdevs Yegin, as it owes to a 3rd in the last test today. The first Spanish is now the Valencian Blanca Ferrando in the eighth place, while the new leader among the hosts is the Malagasy Noa Zabell (CNM Benalmádena) in the 43rd place, at least until the discard allows the onubense Adriana Serra to get rid of an off-line that does not let him wear the eighth note in the first test.

The Spanish Xavier García Ollé and the Italian Emilia Salvatore have taken the lead of the European Optimist following the first two trials in the waters of the Gaditan bay under the winds of the SW between 12 and 15 knots of intensity. Garcia, from the territorial balear, wins the two premiere tests while the Italian one is used a second and a first to impose on less constant rivals today.

Two points from the leader is the Turkish Yigit Ozbasoglu, 3rd and 1st in his group, followed at the same distance by three regatists tied to points, the Croatian Tristan Tol, the Italian Niccolo Pulito and the Spanish of the Balar Juan Bennasar. Within the top10 is another Spanish, the canary Fernando Benítez, and in local key the first Andaluz is the Andalusian regatist Jose Manuel Pachón of the CNM Benalmádena. Among the girls, Salvatore achieves a four-point income on his compatriot Sofia Bommartini, today 5th and 2nd, and one more on the Croats Ema Grabar and Nina Marusic tied in the third and fourth place. The Danish Anne Haubjerg Olesen follows them with two points, and closing the top10 is the Italian defender, Rebeca Geiger. Three places in the third, the first Spanish is the Andalusian Adriana Serra of the CDN Punta Umbria, followed by two places below by the Valencian Blanca Ferrando.

The commitments come in each step by buoy between a fleet that sails very close, given the equality of its members and the desire to get a place in the top of the classification. Knowing that regularity is a safe value, young people do their best to maintain the pressure of rivals in the search for goals. In the first fences were the ones who chose the right center of the race area looking for the ground role, and one of the keys today was to control the counter current in the tide change, which had a great influence on the tactic used in the long.

The machinery started after five minutes of one in the afternoon with the first exit for the first male group, and from there were the remaining four honks until the whole fleet was competing in the inaugural test. The second and final test of the day began after 3: 00 in the afternoon and was about 5: 00 when they all returned to the ground.

Tomorrow Wednesday two new tests are planned from 13: 00, with a weather part very similar to today's one so we will have a new spectacular day in liza for continental titles. It will still take another day for the fifth test to apply the first discards.
