The AQ Turianova Cup, Trophy City of Valencia, already has new champions, which have made all the forecasts good after the day yesterday Saturday. Today, with two different tests for the ORC and Promotion and Reduced classes, the wind did want to join the party, with an intensity in the start of the day of 12 knots reaching up to 20, remaining in direction, on a axis of the 240º (SW- Southwest).
The ORC have completed a wind test, barlovento-sotavento of 4 sections (2 dyes and 2 soups) and arrival in the mouth of the RCN Valencia. The Promotional and Reduced fleet, for its part, has repeated yesterday's coastal route, with exit, beacon of dismantling and beacon in El Perelló to make the arrival at the mouth.
Majoche, a First 40.7 armed by Alejandro Fliquete, has imposed his law from the same length and the control he has exercised over the fleet has allowed him to achieve his second partial triumph in ORC. The Chatín-Spartano, by José Rubio, today has not shown his best face, yet and despite doing a good job throughout the race, but after obtaining the compensated times has signed a 4th square.
A partial who left him in a complicated situation, although thanks to the third position of Blue Lizard, led by Eduardo Tur, yesterday he repeated himself, has allowed him by the second place yesterday to break the strip with 6 points in his favor, so the Tur boys have concluded third in the general.
The fleet in the Reduced category has again shown its best face, a whole success including it in the program of the SM Trophy The Queen 2021, as it is an important and very equal fleet of ships, with many changes in the high part of the classification.
So, Cafés Granell, a First 40.7 with Agustí Granell and Kiko Moret, today has suffered something more than the count with these wind conditions, but the second place, together with yesterday's partial victory, makes them take the title, while Archer, of Javier Navarro and with a Hanse 400, has achieved the triumph in today's coastal race, plus the third square yesterday is second in the general. Bronze for Pampero of Down, by Rodrigo Quesada (2-7).
Equality has also been reflected in the Promotional fleet. Hang Loose (First 33.7), led by Fernando Muro, with partials of 1-2, is awarded the AQ Turianova- Trophy City of Valencia to add 3 points. Behind the podium, Tornado III, a Héctor Luengo Cobo 40 (2-4), has been located, followed by Tortooga, a First 27.7 Rafel Ruíz (3-5).
The award of trophies, held at the Social Restaurant of the RCNV, was attended by Ana Cebollada and Pablo Bernabé, AQ Acentor and AQ Turianova, as well as Alejandro Fliquete, president of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, accompanied by his vice-president, José Rubio and the Vocal of his Board of Directors, José Vicente Alhambra.

The AQ Turianova Cup, the City of Valencia Trophy, today closes its first day, of the two planned, fulfilling the program of a coastal test, with exit in the field of regatas Manel Casanova, beacon of dismarking and from there to El Perelló, to end on the mouth of the RCN of Valencia, thus completing a tour for the entire fleet cruise of 17.75 miles.
Very little wind in this start of the I Cup AQ Turianova, forcing the race committee to a delay of just over an hour. The light-paced and the mist also did not help the committee in order to mount the starting line. At 1300 hours, the coastal race, with the bulk of the fleet very grouped by committee ship, was possible, and the tactical decisions in those first steps were key given the low wind.
Well positioned and in the group of head to the beacon of dismarque have been located the 40: Cafés Granell, of Agustí Granell, followed by Majoche, led by Alejandro Fliquete, and Spartano Cahtín, armed by José Rubio.
After leaving that buoy by starboard, the fleet has been stretching a lot. While Granell chose to choose a further board outside, Majoche and Spartano Chatín, as well as the bulk of the fleet, did something more in it that has allowed Alejandro Fliquete's 40.7 to take some more pressure and to place himself at the head of the fleet. A position that was not to leave until the line of arrival, being the first in real time and the first after obtaining the compensated times in ORC.
Cafés Granell was the second to arrive at the nautical Valencia, while Chatín Spartano did so with about two minutes of difference. The ship of Granell, with this time, achieved the first place in compensated time in its category, Reduced Tripulation, while the ship of Rubio signed the second place, behind Majoche, in ORC.
In the Promotional class, Fernando Muro's hang Loose has had no problem leading the race in its category from the beginning to the end. The second place in the provisional general is occupied by Tornado III, Hector Luengo, and Tortooga, of Rafel Ruíz.
In the other classes, in ORC and after Majoche and Chatín Spartano, it places the Blue Lizard, by Eduardo Tur, while in the class' Tripulation Reduced 'the provisional podium is completed with Pampo of Down, by Rodrigo Quesada, and Archer, by Javier Navarro.
Tomorrow is the second and last day of the AQ Turianova Cup, Trophy City of Valencia.
