The capital of the Turia hopes to be able to host the 2022 edition and reedit the 2007 and 2010 successes, being the 32nd America's Cup qualified as one of the best and most spectacular in the history of the competition that has 167 years of history
Valencia is fighting with other countries, although England and its emblematic island of Wight, the starting point of the struggle for the Jarra de las 100 Guineas, is the only country that has confirmed its candidacy

The successful history of Valencia as the headquarters of the America's Cup (2007 and 2010, it can be said that the 2007 edition is one of the most successful in history), its existing infrastructure, ready to use and to measure for the competition have made it obvious to position Valencia as the potential host of the next edition.

The process to obtain the exclusive right to place Valencia as a candidate for the next America's Cup has been developed between Francesco de Leo, Niccolò Porzio di Camporotondo (Kaufman & Partners / H2O Riders Science & Management) and Carlos de Beltrán (Real Club Nautico de Valencia). In early 2021, documentation was prepared to position Valencia as a possible venue for the next edition in case Auckland was not confirmed again. The New Zealand government and Emirates Team New Zealand (winners of the 36th America's Cup) had a 90-day negotiating period to agree on Auckland's continuity. The group considered that it was not appropriate to raise the initiative to the local, regional and national administration before such negotiations were concluded. These negotiations are over today.

In the midst of the COVID- 19 pandemic, Spain seeks to stimulate its economic recovery by promoting its brand Spain, to reactivate critical sectors such as tourism (teams and families injected + 100 million into the economy during the 2007 edition). In addition, hosting the oldest sport trophy for the third time, it will help to accelerate this recovery, bring a great event to Spain and consolidate Valencia as the European HUB of the America's Cup.

However, while the working group recognizes the opportunity, it understands the real dynamics of the current economic situation. For this reason, the initial objective is to ensure private funding to ensure the initial costs of the event and align the project with the Next Gen EU funds.
