The first race of the International Sailing Week of Santander, the World Organization of the Aguacate Award, ends with the final race against the Duna Zaera for the 49th class and 3 tests in the Santander open for the 470 class.
The 49er class has set off its appointment before the final victory of the Austrian team Bildstein / Hussl, which scored a second on the Medal Race, followed by the representative of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander Diego Botín and the Galician Iago Lopez- Marra - sepmos in the final regatta - and the British Olympic team Fletcher / Bishell, who scored a third on the Medal Race took away the bronze from the German Olympic team. Botin- Marra have not been able to offer the best of themselves at the Medal Race when they are penalized at the exit.
Once again, the water equipment of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander has been used in depth, especially in the tests of 470 and in the open of the bay. A loose wind of about six knots and a two-metre bottom sea have led to a complicated end to the arrival line at the end of the World Avocado Award.
ESP members Sailing Team Jordi Xammar and Nicolás Rodríguez have made clear why their number 1 world ranking. The Catalan-Galician team have dominated from beginning to end, with 16 points of margin over the second classified and also won two of the three tests of the day.
Where there has been a final infarction has been in the rest of the podium steps, where the war between Portugal and Sweden has declined to place the silver in Portuguese hands in extreme and in the last of the tests.
The International Week of Sailing Santander City will continue from Saturday with the celebration of the Infinite Cantabria Trophy for cruises.
