The president of the organization... the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club: Ramón Zubiaga, points out that It is a great date that we have already organized in 2012 and 2018, and now also in this year in which we have a great participation again. This championship is also a privilege for the ships of our fleet by sailing next to the best. I myself, with the DalecandELA, am lucky to be part of one of the almost 40 ships that will take part since this Friday in the Spanish Cup J80 in the Vizcaina waters of the Abra, a beautiful race field. Two years ago we also hosted the World Cup and we are now more than satisfied with the assistance of numerous crews to this test. There are some that are the best in the country, with some world champions among them.
It is a great luxury to race with Ignacio Camino, Pichu Torcida, Pablo Santurde, Javier Chacartegui, Jaime Piris... or with José Azqueta, our best representative. Galician, Andalusian, Cantabra, Majorcan, Baleares, Vasas... crews come from all over the country, in addition to several female crews or our youth, the Fhimasa School of Sailing José Luis de Ugarte, who is the world champion.
The image of so many ships together is worth witnessing. For those of us in there it is a wonder with very fast and spectacular races, and with several favorites to take the victory so the emotion is assured. Both the Board of Directors of our Club, the J80 fleet and all the professionals involved in these competitions, we put all the illusion and dedication so that this Spanish Cup will again be a success as the previous ones. I insist that this test is a privilege. I only have to wish all the participants luck and enjoy it with us. The image in the Abra will be one to remember once again. We hope the wind will come with us.
