The organizers have been impressed by the enthusiasm of the athletes who want to rerow internationally after more than 12 months of almost no competition. The ISF world championships were originally scheduled for last year, but had to be postponed due to the pandemic

The 2005 Sea Kayak World Championship will bring together more than 250 palists next July in Lanzarote, the place that with the experience of organizing the four previous editions of the Atlantic Ocean Surfski will provide the "best and safest conditions" for the development of the competition, has assured the executive director of the test, José María García Riolobos.

The growing popularity of this sports specialty around the world has been able to maintain strong entry numbers, despite the fact that some powerful ocean racing countries, including Australia and New Zealand, are still severely restricted by international travel rules.

The 2005 Sea Kayak World Championship is scheduled for July 4-6 and will feature elite races for both men and women as well as sub-23 categories. Strict COVID protocols will be implemented to protect all participants.
