During the weekend it was held in the waters of Gijón, the VII Trophy of San Pedro de Vela Ligera in which the classes have participated: Optimist, ILCA 6, RS Feva and Snipe (Photo Felix G.Muñiz)
Gonzalo Jaudenos en Optimist, Alfonso Jaudenos en ILCA 6, Covadonga Fernández y Carmen Simal en RS Feva y José Palacio y Alberto Suárez en Snipe, were imposed in their respective categories of the VII Trophy of San Pedro del Real Club Astur de Regatas.
On Saturday the two sleeves were held in a race field located in front of the beach of San Lorenzo, with wind from the Northeast, good sea and sunny day. On Sunday, however, the fog was the main protagonist of the day, the low visibility led the Optimist to a single manga, while the other classes carried out the second race with a short journey.
In the Optimist class there was a real struggle between Gonzalo Jaudenos and Marta Simal, which was decided in favor of Jaudisos in the last manga. Carmen had won the two sleeves of Saturday and finished in fourth position the manga of Sunday, taking the Jaudenos triumph with two seconds on Saturday and being the fastest in the race of Sunday. The third position was obtained, Alvaro Alonso.
In ILCA 6, the domain of Alfonso Jaudenos with three first, he gave only one position in the fourth and last race in which he would end up in second position. The second place in the general was for Bruno González, first in the closing race. At only one point would René Velázquez finish, with a second and two third parties in his locker.
In RS Feva, Covadonga Fernández and Carmen Simal were far superior to their rivals with a full of wins, four out of four. The second and third square was very close with a 10-point tie. The twins, Pablo and Ignacio Buitrago would be made with the subchampionship when the last manga was finished in second position. The third square was for the couple, Marta Suárez and Carmen Menéndez.
José Palacio and Alberto Suárez clearly beat Snipe, won the first three sleeves, which meant taking the Trophy and were second in the closing. Alvaro Alegría and Andrea Ponte, for their part, ended up in second position after the last manga of the Trophy was awarded. The third square, only one point from the second, was obtained by José Luis de la Rubia and Luis Ford.
