The ASNAUGA and Sailway organize a new Xacobea Nautical Trip between Baiona and Portosin from June 14 to 17, with a final stage on foot (Ames- Compostela) of the road to the Muros- Noia era, in which foreign journalists participate
The Association of Nautical Clubs of Galicia (ASNAUGA) and Sailway once again promote the pilgrimage to Compostela across the sea: the Xacobea Nautical Trip, which has been officially recognized by the Cabildo cathedralicio since 2014, which allows to obtain the 'Compostela' to pilgrims who realize it and meet the requirements established.
This southern route begins and next Monday June 14, taking as exit the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona, and with arrival to the Royal Nautical Club of Portosín. After coming down from the ship, the pilgrims will walk the last stretch of the Ría de Muros Noia, uniting Ames and Santiago. On the way, participants will highlight and visit some of the most emblematic places of the Rías Baixas such as Vigo (Canido Maritime Club, Bouzas Maritime Liceo and Real Vigo Nautical Club), Real Club Nautico de Rodeira de Cangas, Club Nautico de Portonovo, Real Club Nautico de Sanxenxo, Marina Vilanova and Club Nautico Sports de Riveira. The pilgrimage will end on June 17.
This time, the Nautical pilgrimage is conjugated with a reverse mission of foreign and national media, so journalists from Germany, Holland England, as well as representatives of the nautical portals of France, will be present to carry out the journey as a few more pilgrims.
The Xacobea Nautical Route seeks to enhance and rescue this road by sea, a form of pilgrimage that began in the 12th century and that unites religiosity and nautical tourism. This maritime road was the one that carried out the Second Crusade, a squadron of more than 200 ships from Britain, Burgundy and Germany, on their journey to the Holy Land.
In addition to the religious side, the Nautical Pilgrimage Xacobea will also highlight the gastronomy, the maritime heritage, the Galician culture and the extraordinary landscape of the Rías Baixas and that of Muros@-@ Noia.
