Great festival of pyragüism in Talavera de la Reina, by the hand of Talavera Talak (Alfonso Tertre and Mónica Escolar)

It took place in Talavera de la Reina, the historic villa of Castilla La Mancha, the Spanish Middle Marathon Championship of Pyragüism in its different modalities and categories, as well as the 1st Spanish Cup of Marathon... where the participants had to complete different distances between the 3,000 and 16,000 meters

More than 600 pyragüistas from sports clubs from all over Spain, were given an appointment on the Tajo River in the area closest to the campus of the University of Castilla la Mancha on the well-known river walk of the city of Cerámica. There, athletes, men and women, of all ages, from the cadets category, to veterans, went through the youth, sub 23, Senior and Masters.

In addition to the usual boats of K1, K2, C1 and C2, they were also seen in Talavera de la Reina, and, for the first time, the SUP or paddle surf, although participation in this discipline was not as high as in the other forms called.

The navigation area, with an exit and arrival area in front of the campus of the University of Castilla la Mancha, certainly made it possible to achieve a great vistosity during the two days of competition and in the different races. This competition has certainly been a visual claim and a success in the presence of neighbors and the public.

The tour, very technical, was located between the vicinity of the known as Puente Viejo Puente Romano and to the hydroelectric power plant that is located past the university area and before the dam located downstream of the river next to the known as "Camino del Barro." Both the departure and the arrival of the different tests took place next to the area of the university campus.

The councilor of Sport in Equality, Sergio Gutiérrez; the councillor of Tourism, Crafts and Commerce, María Jesús Pérez; the president of the Federation of Piragüism of Castilla-La Mancha, José Ángel Sánchez Ortiz; the provincial delegate of Education, Culture and Sports, José Gutiérrez and responsible for the Club TALAVERA-TALAK, in charge of the organization, participated in the emotional delivery of medals and closing act of this Spanish Championship of Media Marathon of Piragüism.
