Arritz Aranburu falls from the competition after being eliminated in the refishing round

Penultimate day of competition and the Spanish run out of qualifying options for the first Olympic Games in which surfing takes part.

The only hope left for the national combination was the surfer of Zarautz Arritz Aranburu. The Spanish again had one of the most complicated sleeves in the picture. A quarterless fight against Isauro Elizondo, Vasco Ribeiro and Manuel Selman.

Emotion to the last wave but, I can't be for the Spaniards who saw the Olympic quotas fade away with the elimination of Aritz. A great job by all the athletes already begin to think about the next Olympics that will be held in Paris.

Carlos García, president of the Spanish Federation of Surfing, sent an emotional message to the national expedition in which he highlighted "first I want to thank the great work and great effort of all. Sometimes you try a lot and you don't get there. But we are very proud of all the work done by each and every one of you."

The start of the competition at the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Surfing Games leaves a full of four Spanish surfers... the balance of the first day cannot be better.

Jonathan González, Ariane Ochoa, Leticia Canales and Arritz Aramburu debuted in the most important world in recent years by imposing themselves as the first in their respective sleeves.

The most mature were Jonathan González and Ariane Ochoa. Both made clear the Spanish intentions in sleeves 6 and 7 respectively. González and Ochoa advanced in the main picture as first in their duels.

The second day of competition leaves a bitter taste for Spanish surfers. Four of the six members of the national team keep their options in the main picture of the competition while two of them will have to try to refish: Nadia Erostarbe and Andy Criere.
