The Vice President and Energy Transition Advisor, Productive Sectors and Democratic Memory, Juan Pedro Yllanes, presented this morning the next edition of the Palma International Boat Show, the first of the current sector to be held after the pandemic. The event, which will take place from 3 to 6 June, at the Moll Vell Fair, is organized by the Institute of Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands (IDI) and Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA).
The nautical sector is part of the economic diversification plan and the commitment to high-quality and high-value-added tourism. Linked to an industrial sector that costs more than EUR 560 million per year, it generates more than 5,000 direct jobs and has almost 2,000 companies.
The Palma International Boat Show will have 227 direct exhibitors, spread over 80,000 square meters. In addition, there will be about 185 vessels exposed at sea. With regard to the offer, he highlights the presence of all the world's leading brands that have chosen Palma to present their new products after months of pandemic, and that consolidates the nautical hall as a preferred destination for the recreational nautical and the professional nautical industry.
One of the great developments this year is the collaboration with Balearic Yacht Show, the virtual fair organized by the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce and the Balearic Marine Cluster. This is an event that was born during the confinement and is held at the same time as the face fair, in order to create a series of synergies to promote the nautical sector of our islands in a global way. The Balearic Yacht Show will bring together more than 50 international experts from the nautical industry in 20 conferences to discuss the future of the sector from all its aspects: industrial, service, sports, leisure and environmental.
The Palma International Boat Show can be visited from 3 to 6 June, from 10 to 21 hours, at the Moll Vell de Palma. Tickets should be purchased through the website www.boatshowpalma.com
