Xavier Garcia Ollé, a regatist of the Real Club Náutico de Palma, has today hung the absolute bronze medal at 39 Lake Garda Meeting, one of the most important tests of the international circuit of the Optimist class. This year's edition has brought together more than 600 ships from all over the world. As for the women, the regatists of the NCN Arenal Nicola Sadler and Marisa Vicens, finished the champion and subchampion.

The winner of the race was the Italian Alex Demurtas, followed in second position by his compatriot Adriano Cardi. Xavier Garcia Ollé has been the best-ranked Spanish and the only one in the Top 10. The Majorcan has completed a partial of 2 + 22 + 5 + 1 + 3 + (26) + 1 + 1 + 11 and has finished the competition with 46 points, three of the nine sleeves having been awarded.

His coach, Jaume Genovard, claims that this good result gives him a lot of confidence for the next European Championship. "In Garda have gathered several of the best regatists of Optimist in the world; this bronze has a great deal of merit," the technician explained.

In addition to Garcia Ollé, the Real Club Náutico de Palma has been represented in the Italian race by Susana Bestard, Juan Bennéssar, Ignacio Martín, Tim Lubat and Nikko Palou. All of them have been classified within the Gold Group.
