The ILCA6 class had important international participation, with six countries registered

Last weekend, one of the most popular trophies of the Royal Nautical Club of Gran Canaria's race calendar was held, included in the events commemorating the celebration of the 5th centenary of the first circumvalation of the land by Juan Sebastián Elcano.

The Optimist once again, were the protagonists being the largest class, with almost 50 boats in the water. The 18 knots of wind and the imposing waves of the race field did not prevent the participants from going out to measure forces, testing them with three trials in the first day and two in the second.

Miguel Padrón, a regatist who will be on the Spanish team that will represent Spain in the next European Championship in late June in Cadiz, began giving the lead to its most direct competitors, Miguel Méndez and Jaime Lang@-@ Lenton who won the first two sleeves. But he did not give a truce in the rest of the event, winning the last three races with five points of advantage over Méndez and Lang-Lenton that would get nine and ten points respectively, thus configuring the general classification and male sub16.

The first female, Patricia Caballero, was also fighting in the head of the fleet in the first tests, but a slight puncture in the third race, took him away from the general podium. In the female Sub16 classification it was accompanied by Inés Martin-Urda and Claudia Sáenz de los Terreros. In the male Sub13 group, Gustavo del Castillo was from less to more, never leaving the group of the first ten, which allowed him to finish sixth in the joint and first in the male classification. Irene Boissier was imposed on this female outsider division.

In group B, Barnabas Denes, Enrique Bernaza and Samuel Quevedo went up to the podium, with Olga Iglesias as the first female and podium of girls with Lili Skomska, Sofía Alvarez and Victoria Kruijtzer for group C

The 420 class had nine participants, where the Laiseca sisters won all the races, with the exception of the second, in favor of Claudia Sánchez / Oti Mesa and the last, with Alejandra Pérez / Ana Bautista as protagonists. In this way Paula and Isabel Laiseca were proclaimed victors in the absolute female classification, Jaime González / Cayetano Valle in absolute male, Sub19 and Sub17, Alejandra Pérez / Ana Bautista were defeated in the sub19 female category and Sara Díaz / Lola Hernández in the sub17 female category. Pol Núñez / Carla Núñez won in the mixed category.

Nahuel Ambrosini was the winner in the same male division and Sergio Carbajo did the same in the male Sub17.

Mar Betancor of the Royal Nautical Club of Arrecife did the same in the female division. Nehuen Ambrosini fought to death the second place of the podium in the general and the first in the male Sub16 category against Zsombor Denes third.
