Vigo will be the reference of the international Vaien not only in 2022, with the 60th World Championship, but also this year with the international "event" test that will supply the cancelled World Cup.

This was decided by the International Vaien Committee on Saturday, at a new video conference meeting. Neither the applications of Germany, Italy (Lago di Garda) and another of Spain (León) could have been submitted by the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo. Therefore, the era will be the scene of an international race, preparatory to the World Cup, next July (from 19 to 25).

Some because they did not want to play their race calendar, others because they considered that they had little time to organize the test or they did not convince any nautical club, the nominations were falling - the German association withdrew their own because of lack of internal interest - and the possibilities were reduced. The Leoness option did not convince either: it raised a young and female European and that needs to go through the approval of the RFEV and the World Sailing first, as well as the general interests of the International Committee, which sought a global offer for the entire fleet of Vaien.
