The Regata de la Costa Brava is organized by CN Skipper i Distribución Nautica, with the organizational participation of the Club Níutic El Balís, the Club Níutic L'Pesca and the Federació Catalana de Vela

The Tramuntana Route, the emblematic regatta of the Costa Brava, is renewed in its 28th edition, adopting a new format of competition, with two stages of navigation, the usual one between Port El Balis and L'Escala and the second one with a route established from L'Escala to the Islot of Massa d'Oros, opposite Cap Creus, to return to l'Escala.

This novelty has been welcomed by the high-rise navigators, who participate in this classic navigation that runs along the northern coast of Catalonia. The organization has created two sections, a 54-mile journey that runs along the South Brava Coast, between the Balis, Blues, The Scale and another 30-mile route that aims to leave L'Scale to reach the Islot Massa d'Oros, opposite Cap Creus, to return to the base of the race at Port L'Scale. Another new development is the establishment of the Costa Brava Trophy, created for the absolute winners of the test.

The new formula of the Tramontana reinforces its will to be the Regata of the Costa Brava, focusing on the port of the Scale, the operational base and the confluence of the two routes.

The departure will take place on Friday, July 9, of the CN El Balís, the usual departure of the test. The first stage will have a forced passage door in front of the port of Blanes, the gate of the Costa Brava for all the sailors who come from the South.

The second stage will leave the CN L'Scale the following day, Saturday, July 10, after the arrival of the fleet that will spend the night on the moorings of the ampurdane club. The second race will have a round-trip in front of the Gulf of Roses, and the southern coast of Cap Creus, to reach the island of Massa D'Oros, turn it by port and return to L'Cscale.

The route of the Tramuntana, the Regata of the Costa Brava, with this design, emphasizes its character of offshore navigation, in front of the spectacular coast of Girona, and is a remarkable test for the Championship of Catalonia of Height, Solitaries and A2 and will be sailed under the formulas of compensation of times ORC for monocascos.

The first 54-mile race, including El Balís - Blues - L'Cscale, will have the steps in front of the ports of Sant Feliu de Guixols, Port d'Aro, Palamós, Estartit- Illes Medes, and will have the points of reference in Cala Caneyelles (Lloret) and Llafranc.

The second 30-mile test, with an exit from the CN l'Escala, is an impressive route towards Cap Creus, and arrival at the port of L'Escala, which will have as steps the harbour enclaves Empuria Brava, Roses, Cadaqués and as points of reference Massa d'Oros and Cap Creus.

Because of the transversal nature of the test, which unites to its side of sports competition the interest of its tourist tour, they collaborate institutions and agencies such as the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona, Ports de la Generalitat, Associació Catalana de Ports Esportius i Turisitcs, the Ajuntment de l'Escalo, the Níutic Català Cluster.

Also involved are entities related to navigation such as the Sailing Club of Blanes, ARAM, the Royal National Cruise Association, the State Society of Salvation and Maritime Security and the Civil Guard of the Sea.

The CN L'Cscale will be one of the neural centers of the test, leading to the arrival point of the first stage and the departure and goal of the next stage, as well as the award-sharing headquarters.
