Since its discovery, the Bahamas has attracted the sailors as a magnet. Uninhabited islets, hidden calets, annual races and modern nautical facilities. More than 100,000 yachts surround the Bahamas every year, visiting landscapes that leave without breath, its great variety and its tranquility, without any borders. The nautical facilities range from last generation ports in the Main Islands to safe soaking in the remote areas of the Foreign Islands. We don't count less than 64 you were in adobo, 12 repair workshops, and 42 ports of entry.
The navigational fans are invited to visit in the waters of the Bahamas. For more than twenty years, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism has joined with the Association of Marine Industries to sponsor the Summer Cruises, which are called Flings. These guided cruises are considered to help the owners of ships that discover the proximity of the Bahamas Islands of Florida with safety, as well as the beauty of the islands and all range of activities. - In April: Annual Family Island Regatta in Exuma.
- In May: annual races in Largo Island (Annual Long Island Regatta).
Sailboats built in the region fight sportively for the prizes. Manglar Cay Homecoming and Regatta in Andros Outre these events, there is usually a race almost every weekend somewhere in the Bahamas. 64 water facilities, 12 repair workshops and 42 reclaimed ports. Here is everything you should know before you enter the port.
The rules of navigation in Bahamas
For port traffic, the following procedures must be followed by the navigators: passing customs and immigration services. The yellow quarantine flag must be deployed and its arrival reported. Customs officers shall move to the visiting ship. Apart from the captain, no one can land before the yacht is inspected.
Each passenger on board must indicate his or her nationality and comply with the immigration procedures required. All firearms present on board, with their serial number, and the exact number of ammunition must be declared. The captain of the yacht is authorized to have a firearm on board as a defence at sea, but he cannot take it off the ship unless he has obtained prior authorization near the local police.
The weapons must be kept locked at every moment. Any offence is severely punished by the authorities.
The ports of recalmata
The entry fees: 150 US $for yachts up to 10.50 in length, valid for two recalculated in a 90-day period; 300 US $for ships plus 10.50, valid for two recalculated over a 90-day duration. These rates cover up to four people. They include a navigation permit, a fishing licence, customs and immigration expenses and an exit rate of US $15. Beyond four passengers, each must meet this rate of $15. If the master previews to stay for more than 12 months at the port, the customs and immigration services must be requested to be authorised. Customs and immigration services are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
